Bad Signal is the first story mission available in MWZ Season 1. This is an Act IV mission, meaning that it’ll be harder than the ones you’ve finished so far. However, you can still access this assignment even if you haven’t completed the other acts. The MWZ Bad Signal mission takes place right after the ending of Act III, where you travel into Dark Aether to get info about the secret entity Dr. Jensen had seen. This MWZ mission has Black Ops Cold War easter eggs and references in MW3 Zombies, and you even get to know more about Samantha Maxis in the new Call of Duty Zombies era inside an Aether Rift!
Bad Signal MWZ Mission Objectives
- Enter the Dark Aether Rift.
- Break 4 Seals.
- Kill Gorm’Gant.
- Exfil from the rift.
In the Bad Signal MWZ mission, you’re about to enter the Dark Aether dimension itself. It’s another universe where Samantha Maxis haunts you once more in a Call of Duty Zombies fashion. Once you’re on the Urzikestan map, There’ll be an Aether Rift available for you, marked on your map.
There, you’ll find a Portal, which you can activate to travel to the Dark Aether dimension. But before you go, ensure you have a level 3 pack-a-punched weapon with you and have all the essential perks like the Stamin-Up, Jugger-Nog, Speed Cola, and PhD Flopper. You’re going to face hundreds of level 2 zombies inside this area, and there’ll be a really hard boss fight at the end.
Now, before heading inside the rift, it’s recommended to bring these items with you:
- Deadbolt Turret Circuit 2x (at least)
- Breacher Drone 2x
- Decoy Grenade 2x
- Chunk of Flesh 3x
- Level III Pack-A-Punched weapons
- As many teammates as you can!
Where To Break Seals in MWZ Bad Signal Mission?
Once you’re in the Dark Aether zone, you’ll find Seals marked in your HUD. The map is jammed, but if you’ve played Warzone 2 Al Mazrah before, then you know that this is the Al Bagra Fortress. Now, all you need to do is to get near the locations and activate the Seals to break them in MWZ Bad Singal Mission.
Once you activate each one of them, waves of zombies start attacking you. You need to kill zombies in the marked circle near each Seal to fill the Seal’s bar. Meanwhile, Samantha starts talking to you as an unknown entity.
How To Defeat Gorm’Gant in MWZ
Gorm’Gant is a leveled-up version of Orcus from MWZ Act III, and you can’t kill it easily with gas grenades. It can shoot lasers, do physical damage, or even eat you! It’s actually funny to see your teammates being swallowed by a giant worm, but you have to kill it anyway to complete your mission. And if you die, you’ll also lose all your weapons and loot.
So, the first thing you need to do is to start the Deadbolt Turret you see in the image above. It’ll kill any zombie or aether orbs from attacking you while you’re dealing with the boss. From here on, only shoot the purple weak spots of Gorm’Gant to defeat it while also using Breacher Drones to deal heavy damage to the beast.
Remember to spawn a level 3 hellhound to revive you and your squadmates, and change position to make it harder for Gorm’Gant to damage you. After you defeat the creature, it’ll drop an item called the Locked Diary, which you’ll then have to exfil with to finish the Bad Signal MWZ mission.
You’ll be rewarded with a cutscene that includes an easter egg that relates the Dark Aether of MW3 to the Black Ops Cold War by finishing this MWZ mission. This MWZ easter egg also teases the future of this mode moving forward, with more missions to come in MW3 Season 1 Reloaded.
