Sabrina Carpenter and Barry Keoghan have seemingly denied those breakup rumors again. Despite some fans thinking the pair may have split, the Saltburn actor has repeatedly fought against the speculation by interacting with Carpenter on social media. From liking her posts to showing support for her new album Short n’ Sweet, it’s clear he still has a lot of love for Carpenter. Now, he may have just confirmed a popular fan theory about him and the singer: Her song “Bed Chem” was inspired by him.
Is Sabrina Carpenter’s “Bed Chem” About Barry Keoghan?
In his latest Instagram Story, Keoghan shared one of Carpenter’s posts about Short n’ Sweet. He then surprised fans by revealing his favorite song off the album in his caption. “BED CHEM my fave just saying m’darlin @sabrinacarpenter,” he wrote.
“Bed Chem” has quickly become a fan-favorite song ever since Short n’ Sweet was released on Friday, Aug. 23. The reason it’s so loved is that it’s speculated to be about the beginning of Sabrina Carpenter and Barry Keoghan’s relationship. The “Espresso” singer dropped a few hints throughout its lyrics that appear to confirm the theory.
She mentions she was wearing a “sheer dress” the day she met her love interest. Meanwhile, the “cute boy” caught her eye in a white jacket. These details match perfectly with the day Carpenter and Keoghan met.
In September 2023, the pair appeared to run into each other for the first time at Givenchy’s Spring-Summer 2024 show. Carpenter wore a sheer black dress to the event, and Keoghan opted for a white jacket. Dating rumors between the pair didn’t begin until last December. However, it seems the two instantly clicked after their first meeting.
“How you’re lookin’ at me, yeah, I know what that means and I’m obsessed,” Carpenter sings during the song. “Are you free next week? I bet we’d have really good bed chem.”
Fans can’t get over the steamy track. Now that Keoghan has revealed it’s his favorite song off Short n’ Sweet, they’re even more convinced he was Carpenter’s muse.
