Batman: The Enemy Within, the second season of Telltale’s take on the caped crusader, has had its ups and downs so far. However, their take on Batman has been a surprising and interesting roller coaster, as they have been able to play with the well-known mythology in order to pull off some shocking moments and genuine surprises. It’s been nearly two months since the cliffhanger ending of the third episode, and Telltale has announced that it will not be long until the release of Episode 4, entitled “What Ails You.” Batman’s adventures will continue on January 23 on all platforms.

The end of “Fractured Mask” ruffled our feathers a bit, as having to wait months after Bruce seemed like he was as good as dead is a bit of a frustration. Obviously, Telltale is not going to kill Batman, but cliffhangers before a two month wait can be a bit difficult to stomach. It seems in the fourth episode ofย Batman: The Enemy Within, the Pact (comprised of Harley Quinn, Bane, Mr. Freeze, “John Doe,” and Bruce Wayne, will begin enacting their devious plan to take control of Gotham. Telltale’s official press release states:
“When the Pact puts its plan into motion, Bruce’s cover is finally blown, and as his web of lies unravels, new questions emerge: When and how will the Pact regroup? What’s truly motivating Amanda Waller and the Agency? And perhaps most importantly, how will John Doe handle the truth about his buddy Bruce? With another showdown brewing, the clown prince of crime may finally earn his crown…”
I certainly hopeย Batman: The Enemy Within allows you to mold John Doe into Robin. Nowย that would be a twist.
