Meghan Markle‘s new lifestyle brand is eliciting hostile feelings from Martha Stewart. It’s a given that Martha is the queen of lifestyle and home living. Her Martha Stewart Living brand has been in business for almost thirty years. However, with Meghan’s personal brand, American Riviera Orchard, now stepping onto the scene, Martha Stewart feels threatened. The businesswoman isn’t taking lightly to a competitor, especially one who has the privilege of a princess.
Martha Stewart vs. Meghan Markle: Lifestyle Brand Wars
Meghan’s American Riviera Orchard brand has received public support from many celebrities. However, Stewart is not one of her fans. According to a source, she isn’t impressed with the Duchess’ venture. “Martha has seen hundreds of Meghan types come and go—and says they all come in with the same self-inflated hype, only to find out it’s a whole new ball game when it comes down to brass tacks,” the insider told In Touch.
“She’s tired of being quizzed by people over how she feels about Meghan’s venture because, honestly, it’s irritating and insulting to her that she’s being compared to a rookie,” the source added.
Martha also doesn’t feel great about having Meghan Markle penetrate her world. The cooking personality has devoted so much to becoming a powerhouse in the industry. She doesn’t like the idea that Meghan Markle will just come along, riding on her title as royal. However, if the former Suits star proves to be remotely any sort of competition, Martha is ready to fight.
“Martha doesn’t put a whole lot of faith in her succeeding. But if she does prove to be any competition, Martha won’t hold back in trying to take her down. She’s still just as competitive as she’s ever been!”
How Does Prince Harry Feel About Meghan Markle’s Brand?
It seems Martha Stewart isn’t the only one who isn’t fully on board with Meghan’s brand. Even Prince Harry isn’t a die-hard fan, according to a close Royal source. It seems the Duke of Sussex doesn’t like that his wife’s new venture is completely commercial.

Prince Harry Unable To Hide Discomfort With Meghan Markle’s Hug at Event Amid Divorce Rumors“Harry thinks the new brand is a great idea because it’s Meghan’s idea – he’s still so loved up that she can do no wrong in his eyes,” royal expert Tom Quinn explained. “But we have to remember that he grew up in a family that would’ve looked down on this kind of commercial enterprise, so there is a part of Harry that’s uncomfortable, which is why we are unlikely to see Harry personally baking cakes or demonstrating kitchen utensils.”
Meghan’s America Riviera Orchard brand will reportedly sell crockery, serving ware, and table linens. It might also have a cooking show. However, it has already started off on the wrong foot with a delayed launch date. Maybe Martha Stewart has nothing to worry about after all.
