Updates to games are second nature in the generation of consoles we have today. With online connectivity becoming required more and more, so does the need for continuous balance and updates. While EA has enough resources to keep updates ongoing, DICE has failed to live up to its potential. With numerous fixes planned for Battlefield 2042 patch, the team is working overtime to deliver. While season 1 being delayed had already turned some fans away, the latest balance patch has also been delayed. Yet while the scoreboard won’t be making an appearance soon, more fixes are on the way. In contrast, there is no confirmation on what exactly; giving the patch more time is hopeful for the title’s future. Announced on Twitter, DICE is giving the upcoming patch with a new scoreboard some more time to stew before release.

Why Is Battlefield 2042’s Scoreboard Patch Delayed?
The updated tentative release time of early March makes some players considerably wary. Considering the last time range given was mid to late February, pushing it back a whole other few months can be detrimental. While the existing player base is numerous, there’s still plenty of time for it to expand and grow as the game does as well. Yet, off to a rocky start is becoming a trend with DICE’s titles. While the quality of life updates are hopeful, plenty still needs attention besides a new scoreboard. Yet, while fans can hope this single patch in March will be enough, there are plenty of things that need additional development time. Despite releasing just a few months ago, players are beginning to worry about the game’s longevity. Seeing other titles get healthy doses of content, many wonder why Battlefield 2042 is dragging its feet behind.
