Update 1.2 has arrived for Battlefield 2042, and here is the complete list of changes and fixes added to this patch. This update includes not only new bug fixes, balance changes, and Quality of Life improvements but also the first planned launch map reworks, alongside the initial Style and Tone changes for some of the Specialists. Here is everything new with Battlefield 2042 patch 1.2.

Battlefield 2042 Update 1.2 Patch Notes

game

  • Kaleidoscope has been reworked to offer an improved gameplay flow through new cover assets, flag positions, terrain elevations and visual updates to several locations on the map
  • We are introducing the first Style and Tone change for our Specialists, which includes several updated character models
  • The power of the RAH-68 Huron and YG-99 Hannibal 30mm Cannon has been reduced by making them overheat at a much faster rate. This will help to limit their impact on infantry and bring it more in line with our balance
  • A Player Profile and Statistics page is now available in-game. It provides an overview of your performance and progression since the launch
  • Aim Assist on Controllers has been adjusted to ensure it feels smoother and more consistent while tracking moving targets
  • The BSV-M Full Auto mode now receives an accuracy penalty, and High Power rounds now lose damage faster over distance

The update’s main feature is the revamp of Kaleidoscope. DICE expanded the amount of cover on the whole map and raised the ground in several spots to reduce sightlines. New goal locations and items of interest include a forward operating station in the park and a command post close to the map’s center tower included in the updated Kaleidoscope. In addition to new map regions and cover, DICE claims in the patch note that some of the maps have been changed to have a more “war-torn look” that is “more faithful to 2042’s setting.”

This is the last game update scheduled before entering Season 2. It will be available to download and play on Tuesday, August 2, at 1 AM PT / 4 AM ET / 9 AM BST. For more information regarding this patch, visit the official Battlefield 2042 site.
