Comedian Amy Schumer isn’t quite ready to drop her hat beef with New York Post. Amy has been engrossed in a beef with the news outlet for days. It all began when The NY Post did an article describing a straw hat Amy donned in one of her photos as unflattering. Unwilling to take the shade sitting down, the comedian clapped back at them in another post, making it clear her hat was in fact voted “the most flattering” available to stay protected from the summer sun.
Amy Schumer Sparks Storm in Prairie-Style Hat
Although the outlet has since refrained from delving further into the feud despite striking the first blow, Amy hasn’t had her fill just yet. In her new Instagram post shared barely one week after The New York Post’s attack on her hat choices, Amy Schumer called out the publication once again. This time, she donned an even funkier black and white checkered bonnet with scarf-like chin straps that seemed snatched out of the 70s movie Little House on the Prairie. She paired her hat with a white pullover giving off the 70s vibes. Amy took a swipe at the news outlet via her caption, writing,
“@nypost do you like my hat?”
The post stirred the heat as fans tried to tackle the revived beef, offering their divided opinion on whether Amy Schumer’s new summer hat was a hit or miss. Some fans deemed the hat unflattering, ruling it out as a fashion fail and admitting they did not like it. One commenter pointed out,
“For living on the prairie it may be ideal. Elsewhere, it is a flap of fabric on your head.”
Many commenters found the hat indeed flattering, admitting they looked forward to trying it out themselves. Some of them doubled down on Amy Schumer’s beef with the New York Post, acknowledging that the publication lacked the sense to know what worked in the line of summer hat fashion. A fan commented,
“NYPost needs to get some STYLE.”
Meanwhile, others tried to play it safe, highlighting the basic functionality of the elaborate sun hat without taking sides. Looks aside, one can hardly blame Amy Schumer for reacting to New York Post’s hat-shaming. After all, the need to protect oneself from the scorching summer heat outweighs any perceived fashion ideals. Bonus points if both could work in one outfit.
