Below Deck Mediterranean star Malia White started dating Jake Baker after the season 6 finale, and fans want to know if the two are still together. Fans of Below Deck Med first met Malia when she starred as a new deckhand in season 2. Throughout that season, Malia’s love triangle with the chef Adam and bosun Wes placed her at the center of controversy and drama. Still, she finished the season as one of the franchise’s favorite characters.
Malia would later return to Below Deck Med for season 5, and this time around, as an experienced bosun. However, like her first time in the series, Malia’s relationship with co-star chef Tom Checketts again placed her at the center of controversy. Tom, the British chef, constantly moaned and threw tantrums, making him an unlikable character among the crew and the fanbase. Sadly, their relationship ended after the season, and Malia later accused him of cheating.
Despite the drama of seasons 2 and 5, Malia returned to Below Deck Med for season 6. However, unlike her previous appearances, Malia spent the entirety of season 6 without any significant controversy and even gained back some fans who saw her as a villain. Surprisingly, during the season 6 reunion, Malia shocked fans when she announced her relationship with Jake Baker, an engineer from Below Deck Med.
Malia and Jake Are No Longer Together
Just recently, Malia shared an Instagram story where one of her friends mentioned that Below Deck Med fans wanted to know if she and Jake were still together. However, Malia smiled and answered “No” without going into further details or adding any context. Still, a further examination of her social media revealed that the lovebirds no longer follow each other. Also, Jake’s pictures have been erased from Malia’s Instagram. The Below Deck Med couple’s shocking breakup comes almost a year after the duo went public with their relationship.

Although Jake Baker was not one of the main cast on Below Deck Med, he appeared several times during the season. At the season 6 reunion, Malia explained that they started dating after they departed from the series. While speaking about their romance, Malia noted per CheatSheet:
“No, actually, Jake’s super introverted, so I really didn’t talk to him until the end of the season. So at that time, Jake wasn’t even, he was very behind the scenes.”
Meanwhile, Jake confirmed the relationship much later when she shared a now-deleted picture of himself and Malia kissing by a pool. The engineer had also shared a previous photo of the duo during Malia’s 31st birthday in Fort Lauderdale a month before. After posting the photo, fans rushed to the comment section to laud the pair.
Who Is Malia Dating Now?
Although Malia and Jake are no longer together, the Below Deck Mediterranean bosun does not appear to be dating anybody. Malia’s previous relationships, which fans have witnessed, reinforced the belief that maintaining a relationship in the yachting world is challenging. Still, most viewers are rooting for Malia to find love again; hopefully, it’ll last longer than her previous ones.
