Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are currently going through a messy divorce. However, in addition to the heartbreak that the stars are likely feeling, the end of their marriage is also having an impact on their children. When “Bennifer” tied the knot in 2022, they blended their families. JLo shares twins, Max and Emme, with ex-husband Marc Anthony. Meanwhile, Affleck and ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, have three chidlren, Violet, Fin, and Samuel.
People Magazine reports that since splitting with Jennifer Lopez, Ben Affleck hasn’t been in contact with her children. All the while, JLo is still close with Affleck’s three kids. She was even recently seen on a shopping trip with his son, Samuel.
Ben Affleck No Longer Has Contact with Jennifer Lopez’s Children
“[Jennifer] went out there and told the world what a great dad he was,” a source tells the magazine. “The fact that he has not seen her kids in a long time, it’s like he left, but she is especially close to his kids.”
Meanwhile, Lopez not only keeps in touch with Affleck’s kids, but Marc Anthony’s children as well. “She’s also close to Marc’s kids from [his] previous relationship. She keeps in touch with the children and she’s a good mom.”
To make matters worse, Lopez’s children are said to be very close to Affleck’s kids. They reportedly plan to keep their stepsibling connection despite their parents’ split.
Of course, fans had plenty to say about Affleck snubbing Max and Emme amid the divorce.
“What the actual f— is wrong with Ben? Seriously,” one person commented on Reddit.
“He seems like the sort of person who just totally emotionally shuts down at any sign of conflict,” another comment read.
“This is really sad,” a third person stated.
“He’s the actual adult here who’s apparently incapable of empathy or acting like one in any situation. It’s always the women in his life who have to prop him up and do everything for him while he screws around,” another person stated.
Unfortunately, it seems that the children add another heartbreaking layer into Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s split. Fans are now hoping the kids will come out of the divorce unscathed, as they’ve been through similar situations in the past.
