A new survival-crafting game has arrived, and you know what that means: grabbing your friends or barbarians to conquer its lands. However, before you do so, it is important you find a suitable location in Soulmask to make your starter base. With the jungle full of dangers and barbarians around every tree ready to attack you, finding a place that’s easy to fortify is vital. Furthermore, you also need an area rich with materials. And while all those sound like too many requirements, there are a few places we’ve found that have all these things.
5. Secluded Base
Allow me to share the location of my starter base in Soulmask, which actually helped me a lot during the early game. As soon as you spawn, open your map and look for the little pond on the eastern side of the zone. Once you arrive, you’ll notice a small body of water full of wildlife, plants, herbs, and a few clay deposits. Furthermore, it has many options to take cover, allowing you to stay hidden from other players. While I feel this location works better in a PvE server, PvP players should have a safe time there.
4. Clay Base

Since it can be difficult to find sometimes, we recommend this spot for another base location in Soulmask. Open your map and move your cursor to the west, and you’ll see a small lake. If you head to the northwestern part of the lake, you’ll see a bunch of clay deposits. Also, there are a lot of turkeys around and a few herbs, too. However, there are some aggressive creatures around, so craft some weapons first before heading there to settle down.
3. Lake Base
The next location we recommend for a starter base in Soulmask is actually below the clay base. The difference is that there aren’t any aggressive creatures around. You have a lot of wildlife around you can hunt, a lot of plants to harvest for your thatch buildings, and a lot of trees and stones. This is the perfect place to bring your tribe, grab as many barbarians as possible, and have them collect everything around. One or two tribe members can get a huge yield of stones, wood, and vines in minutes. So, if you prefer to do some exploring and let others do the gathering for you, this is the perfect spot for that.
2. Cliff Base
Located on the western side of the initial area is a small pond with a piece of land in the middle. This base location is a bit tricky due to the elevation and not-so-flat area. However, those who are creative with the building system can make a fortress here. If you’re on a PvP server, this is a great area due to how open the space is, allowing you to see where everyone’s coming from. We only recommend doing our base here if you’re a solo PvE player or are in a PvP group. Otherwise, you might have a hard time defending your belongings.
1. Deep Jungle Base
Those who want to have a true jungle experience should consider this location as a starter base in Soulmask. Initially, it might seem like a terrible choice due to the lack of a water source or an open space. Still, it is one we recommend considering when playing in larger groups. During one of our multiplayer sessions, we noticed how centric this location was. Some players stayed to harvest the many trees around the base, others hunted the plentiful wildlife of the area, and others went exploring. Plus, with so much cover, setting up a few ambushes against other players never gets old.

Best Starting Mask in SoulmaskUltimately, you shouldn’t get too attached to your starter base in Soulmask because as you progress through the game, your tribe will grow and require more space. But for the early game, these locations are fantastic and will allow you to get your feet wet in this perilous yet engaging survival experience. So, build that bonfire, grab your barbarians, and create your home sweet home in the jungle.
