Compared to MW2 and MW3, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 features less power gap between its guns, delivering one of the best sets of balanced weapons on the table. However, as the trend of Call of Duty goes, there’s always a small list of broken guns that need the least attachment proficiency to dominate. Here are the top 10 best guns in BO6 pre-season.
10. Jackal PDW
The Jackal PDW offers everything in a balanced way. Its Good recoil management, medium fire strength, and normal mobility fit well in the SMG criteria. If only one of these stats was overpowered, the Jackal PDW could climb higher in this best Black Ops 6/BO6 guns ranking contest.
9. XM4
The same well-rounded applause goes to the XM4 in the AR category. The M4 family has been known for their perfectly balanced damage and recoil control, but Black Ops 6‘s XM4 comes with a mod called the Rapid Fire, adding more to what you expect from this returning Cold War weapon.
8. Kompakt 92
Hands down, Kompakt 92’s recoil management is probably the worst in this game. However, if you’re in close-range combat with this SMG, it’d rip your operator apart with its lightning-fast fire rate. Kompakt 92 looks very much like our good old MP5 from the old Call of Duty titles, and you can somehow tune its recoil control with some extra attachments in Black Ops 6.
7. Tsarkov
The DMR fans would be very happy to see a one-shot marksman rifle in Black Ops 6/BO6, stealing the spotlight in its class as the best gun there is. If you manage to hit the target in the head with Tsarkov, they’re dead. If not, just hit another shot; there’s no bolt-action sequence to worry about.
6. AK-74
Have you seen a single shooter that features a wimpy AK-47 variant? Oh, MW2/MW3, of course. Well, Call of Duty redeems the Kalashnikov rifle in Black Ops 6 with amazing accuracy and high firepower. The fire rate of AK-74 is the same as any other variant here, but you can boost it up with the Rapid Fire mod.
5. PP-919
Bizon, PP-19, Bullfrog, whatever you name it, the PP-919 SMG is one perfect SMG that deserves a high spot in Black Ops 6‘s best guns list. The PP-919 comes with great firepower, good damage range, and amazing mobility stats despite its heavy 64-round magazine. I dropped my first nuke with this SMG, and I’m quite sure that it’ll be nerfed as soon as Black Ops 6 Season 1 begins.
4. LR 7.62
Definitely, a Warzone pick, LR 7.62 is the best weapon in Black Ops 6 sniper rifle class, capable of one-shot killing the opponent only by hitting their upper body. The LR comes with a bit quicker ADS time than the Frostline, while the damage is higher, and the range is better.
3. C9
MP5, as always, is one of the best guns in BO6 is no exception here; even if they change the name to Lachmann-Sub or C9. Perfect mobility, super fast ADS, high damage, and fine accuracy are among the best that C9 delivers. What else do we need from an SMG?
2. Model L
With a second-to-none recoil pattern and accuracy, Model L brings super high damage and range stats to the table, making it the second-best gun in the Black Ops 6 AR class. The gun heavily resembles the Scar-H vibes with a balanced fire rate and destructive damage, demanding only 3-4 shots to end them.

What happens if we combine the same Model L high damage with a faster fire rate and an integrated suppressor? As Val was great, is great, and will always be great in any Call of Duty game. The gun’s TTK is so smooth that you’d be shocked by winning some of the tight 1v1 gunfights you encounter in the game. Best Black Ops 6 gun in the pre-season indeed.
