Despite being in charge of piloting The Grandcypher, Rackam is a fantastic character to have in Granblue Fantasy: Relink that can dish out a lot of damage with a proper build. With him being one of the few ranged-focus party members, he has quite an engaging gameplay loop. Some might even find it similar to the Machinist job in FFXIV, and that’s great. With a heat gauge to manage several devastating ranged attacks and fast moves, you’ll want to try this helmsman on the field, even if ranged gameplay isn’t your cup of tea.
How To Build Rackam in Granblue Fantasy: Relink
Rackam specializes in ranged combat, and the only build that fits him in Granblue Fantasy: Relink is a DPS-focused one. He doesn’t have many support or healing skills. Instead, he focuses on increasing his attack speed and high damage at the cost of his health. While it might be regarded as a high-risk, high-reward playstyle, having a Rackam in your party can be great for any type of quest.
Weapon: Benedia
For this build, we’re going heavy on the offensive stats. Benedia is one of the best early weapons for Rackan due to its flat Attack bonus. Of course, you’ll unlock a few other traits as you level this armament up, making it even better. But, if you want a gun to carry you through the endgame difficulties, this will do the job.
Skills and Sigils
As we mentioned, this Rackam build in Granblue Fantasy: Relink focuses entirely on offensive skills with only a few self-buffing abilities. You won’t support others, but you’ll be behind everyone, taking down targets with fast bullets and fiery explosions.
- Bullet Hail
- Spitfire
- Double Tap
- Coffinmaker
Before delving into the rotation, it is important to learn how Rackam’s combos work because there are combos. While you can spam the normal attack button to fire fast and call it a day, the Heat Gauge is as important. Filling it up will allow you to perform a faster and more devastating charged attack, so you better get comfortable with the loop. After nailing that down, start every fight with Double Tap, followed by a normal combo. Use Bullet Hail and Spitfire against groups of enemies or a boss that is far from you. You should reserve Coffinmaker for whenever you Break a boss or see enemies running away, such as slimes.
Regarding sigils, we’ll need to add a few that shorten Rackam’s cooldowns and increase the damage of his charged attack, such as the following:
- Attack Power
- Critical Hit Rate
- Critical Damage
- Cascade
- Charged Attack
- Damage Cap
- Quick Charge
Oddly enough, Rackam turned out to be a pretty adaptable character for many quests. When party members such as Narmaya or Zeta work better as boss killers, Rackam is amazing in every mission. We found him extremely helpful when chasing down slimes in Horde quests and a killing machine against many boss fights. So, while he might not be a favorite for many, you should definitely try bringing him on a quest or at least play with him for a while to see what he’s all about.
