While many tend to ignore Vane due to his somewhat generic look, with the right build, he can be the best tank in Granblue Fantasy: Relink. Besides that, he also packs a huge punch that can stun enemies faster while keeping other party members out of harm’s way. So, if you’ve been putting off this character for a while, we can’t recommend him enough. However, you need to do a bit of grinding and learn this guy’s combos if you want to be the best at the front.
How To Build Vane in Granblue Fantasy: Relink
After playing with Vane for a while, we realized that the best build for him in the game is a tank-oriented one. Yes, there are many DPS skills in his repertoire, but after some trial and error, we found out he’s ideal for taking enemies head-on and keeping others safe. So, if that’s the gameplay style you like and don’t mind taking a lot of punches to the face, Vane is the hero your crew needs.
Weapon: Swan
As we always say, this build should carry you to the endgame and some of the hardest difficulties without a lot of effort. Since we’re making Vane take the hits while also setting up the stage for other party members to do damage, you need a weapon with the stun effect. The best one for this scenario is Swan, which is quite cheap to make and can be upgraded to unlock other traits. Yes, you might change this armament down the road, but for Very Hard and Maniac difficulties, this is more than enough.
Skills and Sigils
This build for Vane in Granblue Fantasy: Relink is all about taking as many hits as possible and keeping others protected. After we tried this setup, we found out it works in several quests, including Horde, Boss fights, and many more. Here are the skills you should watch out for:
- Arm Destruction
- Heroic Beat
- Drachenstolz
- Rampart
Vane’s gameplay relies on filling his Beatdown gauge, which causes a lot of damage once it’s full. Since the combos aren’t too hard to master, just focus on the one you’re more comfortable with to start filling that gauge. With that out of the way, always begin a fight with Arm Destruction, followed by your normal combos. You need to weave your finisher in between Arm Destruction since this is your main DPS rotation. When an enemy enters overdrive, hit Drachenstolz, followed by Heroic Beat to restore HP. If an enemy does a heavy AoE attack, use Rampart to keep your party safe.
Since our righteous hero will be a tank, here are the sigils you should get:
- Stun Power
- Aegis
- Combo Finisher
- Drain
- Enmity
- Garrison
- Linked Together
- Quick Cooldown
With these sigils, you’ll make Vane attack faster with skills while boosting his combo damage. Furthermore, you’ll force enemies to attack you and have some leeching effect to counter the damage. Overall, this is a great build you should try, especially in some endgame fights. So, start farming those quests and letting this character shine as the hero he always wanted to be.
