  • 2. Astegon
  • 1. Shadowbeak

Palworld offers a beautiful land where you get to build a base and survive alongside your little squishy Pengullets and Lamballs. As you progress, however, you’ll face other people living on this land, trying to put you six feet under. This is where you need to fight back, build weapons, and probably get some help. The best option is to select a few combat pals to deal with any threat in Palworld.

5. Fenglope

  • Found in a cave near the Ascetic Falls.

Having a rough time fighting ground-level targets in Palworld? The Fenglope is your mate. Put this pal on your base, and it’ll do nothing but cut wood. Put the beast on the combat field, however, and it’ll show you how much of a qualified pal it is for dealing with boss fights and even dragons. The abilities of this pal are like the OP version of Pengullet, shooting water beams and stunning the targets by freezing them. Not the #1 on the list, but definitely the combat pal you want to have in your 5-member team in Palworld.

4. Grizzbolt

  • Found on an island located on the south-east of the map.

If you’re looking for an electricity power generator in Palworld, Grizzbolt is the guy you’re after. This pal is good in combat and can help a lot in your Palworld base. In fact, if you’ve fought the first boss of the game, Zoe, you know how much of a powerful being Grizzbolt is. All its powers are lightning-based, stunning targets at some points, while still doing hefty damage to HP too.

3. Lyleen

  • Lyleen can be found on the north-east island on the map.

Lyleen is a grass-type pal in Palworld that comes with expertise in crafting medicine. Why do we want it on the combat field? It can handle itself pretty well, dealing with opponents by shooting water beams and grass tornadoes at them. However, one thing that makes this pal so special above all, is its partner skill. Lyleen can heal you while in combat, which is very useful while dealing with a boss, or when fighting off too many enemies at once. Not to mention that this pal is also a very good base keeper, helping around with plantations, crafting medicine, gathering, building and more besides combat in Palworld. Remember that to capture this creature, you’ll need to have a high-level pal sphere. Lyleen won’t give up on being captured so easily.

2. Astegon

  • You can find Astegon in the Destroyed Mining Shaft on the west side of the map.

Dark creatures are so strong in the game. For instance, you can use the Lyleen Noct by breeding it, and make it even more powerful. But in the dragon’s category, Astegon is the most powerful being that can both shoot dragon breath fire beams and dark energy. The dark energy projectiles of Astegon are so efficient against larger opponents. You can take down bosses one after another by just having an Astegon in combat, making Palworld much easier. Capturing it, however, is the labour of Hercules. Make sure that you have super powerful weapons like a rocket launcher, and a team of pals that have stunning and freezing abilities to shoot down the Astegon dragon. Once its health gets low, throw a high-level sphere, and take that dragon to custody.

1. Shadowbeak

  • The northern island is the home of Shadowbeak and its kind.

Shadowbeak is another one of those dark pals that can deal massive amounts of damage to enemies. This pal is so overpowered, allowing the user to fight many enemies at once with no pressure. Shadowbeak is not meant to be left at your base, as it has no treats besides gathering. Put it on the combat field, however, and it’ll shoot dark energy orbs that can capture your enemies, damage them, and probably kill them in the first blast. If they’re still alive, though, Shadowbeak will do a physical attack by charging at them. You can also mount Shadowbeak to use its flying ability, and you should know that shooting dark projectiles while riding enhances the amount of damage you deal to the enemies. But remember, Shadowbeak eats a lot of food every day! Make sure you have enough to keep the dark eagle happy.

Palworld is currently available to play on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
