As one of the first events in Pokemon TCG Pocket, it involves one of the most precious and valuable cards for Water-type decks: Lapras EX. The event rules are simple, as players must complete several fights, but they increase in difficulty at each stage: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. The real challenge is in the Advanced Stage, where you face Lapras EX and some problematic Seaking. It’s complicated but thankfully not impossible; you can win with an electrifying strategy to overcome this event and get Lapras for a new Water deck.

Which is the Best Pokemon TCG Pocket Deck for the Lapras EX Event?

The best strategy is to prepare a deck with several Lightning-type Pokemon, especially to use the Weakness Advantage against the Water type in your favor. In the last fight, you should also try to evolve your Active Pokemon fast because your opponent will quickly evolve two Seaking. These fish are a real pain because they have 100 HP, and their attack can cause up to 80 damage, depending on their coin result. Lastly, in this Pokemon TCG Pocket event, the Lapras EX is the main threat, and it takes a few turns to appear. So, try to finish the fight or have several evolutions before it appears.

This is one of the best decks for the Advanced stage event:

  • x2 Tynamo
  • x2 Eelektrik
  • x2 Voltorb
  • x2 Electrode
  • x2 Potions
  • x2 Pokeballs
  • x1 X Speed
  • x2 Professor’s Research
  • x2 Giovanni
  • x2 Sabrina

Tynamo is a good basic Pokemon as it makes 30 damage with only one Energy compared to Blitzle or Voltorb. Many users preferred to change the Tynamo and Eelektrik cards for Blitzle and Zebstrika because once you evolve Zebstrika, its attack allows you to do 30 damage to any of your opponent’s Pokemon. This is especially useful to stop your enemy from evolving their Benched Pokemon or gaining one Point before it is Active. Of course, these are the best options if you don’t have Pikachu EX, which deals +30 damage for every Benched Pokemon you have, although it requires two Energy.

Remember to always keep in mind your Energy inside the fight and also the Event Stamina. The Event Stamina is the special Energy to challenge each event stage; you will have five points available. This Energy also recharges over time, or you can use your resources inside Pokemon TCG Pocket to recharge it.
