As we all know, there are loads of weapons in Monster Hunter Now, including Hammers, which require some decent builds to run effectively. Hammers are relatively slow, but they hit quite hard. That said, pairing up your hammer with a good set of armor for the monsters you hunt is crucial. Otherwise, you can deal amazing damage, but take hits from large monsters even harder. It takes a bit of planning, as well as mixing and matching, but don’t stress. We’re here to show you some of the best hammer builds in Monster Hunter Now.

Each hammer has a set of specific attributes that make it strong against some enemies and weak against others. It’s important to pay attention to them.

  1. Iron Hammer – Great for Poison Enemies
    • The Iron Hammer can be paired up with any armor and will still work the same.
    • For enemies with no elemental weaknesses and Poison abilities, a fully upgraded Iron Hammer is the way to go.
    • Equipment Skills: Poison Resistance
      • Grants a (20/40/60/80/100)% chance of preventing poison status when damaged by a poison-element attack.
    • Special Attack: Spinning Bludgeon
      • Utilizes the rotational force of the hammer to deliver a shattering blow. Power: (100/105/110)%.
  2. Kulu Beak – Great against extremely powerful enemies
    • The Kulu Beak Monster Hunter Now hammer can be paired up with any armor, but works best with the Kulu Armor Set. The Kulu Armor Set increases Affinity at each level, which boosts the Kulu Beak’s already high Affinity.
    • Equipment Skills: Fortify
      • Increases attack power by (10/15/20/30/40)% for 10 seconds each time you revive after fainting during a hunt.
    • Special Attack: Spinning Bludgeon
      • Utilizes the rotational force of the hammer to deliver a shattering blow. Power: (100/105/110)%.
  3. Blooming Hammer – Great against Large Monsters with Poison Weakness
    • Paired with the Pukei Armor Set, you gain shortened charge time on your weapons and increase the fill rate of the Spirit Guage as well as increase your max health by up to 50.
    • Equipment Skills: Sneak Attack
      • Increases damage by (10/15/20/25/30)% when attacking a monster from behind.
    • Special Skill: Spinning Bludgeon
      • Utilizes the rotational force of the hammer to deliver a shattering blow. Power: (100/105/110)%.
  4. Carapace Sledge – Great against fast Large Monsters
    • When the Monster Hunter Now Carapace Sledge Hammer is paired with the Barroth Armor Set, you get increased defense of up to 100, Increased attack power after executing a well-timed guard, and reduced knock back.
    • Equipment Skills: Defense Boost
      • Increases defense by (20/40/60/80/100)
    • Special Skill: Spinning Bludgeon
      • Utilizes the rotational force of the hammer to deliver a shattering blow. Power: (100/105/110)%.
  5. Girros Hammer – Great for Large Monsters with a Paralysis weakness
    • The Girros Hammer can be paired with any Armor Set
    • Equipment Skills: Sneak Attack
      • Increases damage by (10/15/20/25/30)% when attacking a monster from behind.
    • Special Skills: Spinning Bludgeon
      • Utilizes the rotational force of the hammer to deliver a shattering blow. Power: (100/105/110)%.
  6. Thunder Hammer – Great against Large Monster with Thunder Weakness
    • The Thunder Hammer in Monster Hunter Now is perfect when paired with the Karachi Armor Set. It allows you to have better evading and much stronger thunder-element attack values.
    • Equipment Skills: Evade Extender
      • Extends evasion distance.
    • Special Skills: Spinning Bludgeon
      • Utilizes the rotational force of the hammer to deliver a shattering blow. Power: (100/105/110)%.
