  • The Best Shock Build for Invoker in Remnant 2

Each time Remnant 2 adds a new archetype, we all rush to see how well it fits into our builds, and let me tell you, the Invoker is one of the best to have on our characters at all times. With new nature-oriented builds focused on DoT effects, healing, and enhancing other players, this is a terrific class to have. While you’ll have to finish the most recent DLC to make this build work, the effort is worth it for those unafraid to ride the lightning.

The Best Shock Build for Invoker in Remnant 2

While playing Remnant 2: The Forgotten Kingdom for the third time and after obtaining the coveted Invoker archetype, we decided to cook up a build. Usually, I’m not a big fan of DoT effects or elemental damage, but when using the Invoker alongside the Ritualist, you can destroy enemies in the blink of an eye. There are a few items you need to get this build to work, but as long as you have the right melee weapons and rings, you can pull this build off.

Archetype Combinations

Let’s start with the important bit: the best archetypes for this Invoker build in Remnant 2. Since we’re focusing on DoT effects, the Ritualist is the best pick. You should focus on leveling up your Ritualist to level 5 and unlock the Miasma skill. In the Invoker’s case, as soon as you unlock it, you’re good to go. Here are the two skills you need at all times:

SkillEffect
Miasma (Ritualist Level 5)Casts an AOE burst that applies BLEEDING, BURNING, OVERLOADED, and CORRODED to all enemies within 15m, and dealing a total of 300 base damage. Lasts 10s
Way of Kaeula (Invoker Level 0)Invoke Kaeula to cast Tidal Wave, dealing 360 Elemental Damage and conjuring a 39m Rainstorm for 15.45s. Allies inside Rainstorm gain Haste. Enemies inside Rainstorm get Drenched.

Drenched: Reduces target’s movement speed by 10%. Every few seconds, lightning strikes enemies, dealing 720 base Shock damage split among Drenched targets.

The gist of this build is focusing on applying DoT effects as soon as possible. While the Shock effect will make sense below, let us elaborate on the other part. The Invoker has these two passive skills:

  • Gifted: Increases skill duration by 6%.
  • Entranced: Increases skill damage by 3% and Elemental damage by 1.5%.

With that in mind, you can see why the Ritualist is the perfect pairing. Cast Miasma first, follow up with Way of Kaeula and just watch as the enemies die without you spending bullets on them.

Weapon Choices

Moving on to the next part of this build, our Invoker will use two new weapons introduced in Remnant 2: The Forgotten Kingdom. While there are other great choices out there, we feel the DLC’s armaments are perfect for this build. Also, we’ll only focus on the melee and primary weapon. The secondary is important as well, but after just using the primary and melee, we noticed your handgun can be a wildcard, so use any you want.

WeaponMod PowerMutator
Monolith (Lydusa’s Weapon)Launch a sphere of loam. Impact creates a 6.5 swirling storm of sand, which seeks to center itself on an enemy and deals 150 Elemental damage per second. When Sandstorm’s focused target dies, it will seek a new enemy within 10m.Maelstrom (The Awakened King)
Crystal Staff (Infected Abyss)Charged melee empowers the staff for 10s, causing Melee Attacks to launch an energy bolt that seeks enemies within 30m, dealing 55 Shock damage and granting 1 stack of Power Stone. (10 Max stacks).

While empowered, Charged melee attacks call a 7.8m shockwave, dealing 82.5 Shock damage and ending the Power Stone effect. Each Power Stone that is consumed releases a bolt of energy that seeks a random enemy and applies Overloaded.
Shocker (Aberration Drop)

Since the Invoker’s skills increase elemental damage, both of these weapons are great. Monolith’s mod is there to provide a DoT effect for bosses and groups of enemies. Our Maelstrom mutator increases elemental damage by 5.5% for each elemental unique status, meaning it pairs perfectly with the Ritualist’s Miasma skill. Our Crystal Staff will continue applying the shock status to enemies and will improve once the Shocker mutator gets to level 10, which increases DoT even more.

Equipment

Invoker Build Rings

Last but not least, we also need to equip our usual rings and armor to make this Invoker build for Remnant 2 work. While we picked the armor for purely cosmetic reasons, the rings will make this build even more powerful.

EquipmentEffect
Disciple’s ArmorBleeding, Corrosion, and Shock protection.
Chains of AmplificationIncreases all damage dealt to targets suffering from status effects by 20%.
Shard Banded RingIncreases all mod damage by 12%.
Bloodless King’s VowGain 4% of base Ranged Damage as lifesteal.
Faelin’s SigilMelee Damage generates 15% additional Mod Power.
Stone of MalevolenceElemental Damage generates 15% as additional Mod Power.

With the equipment, we emphasize a focus on Mod and Elemental damage while adding some lifesteal effects to keep yourself alive. As long as you have a status effect on an enemy, you should be good to go.

Overall, we feel this build does a great job at doing huge amounts of DoT effects while also buffing party members and being versatile enough to switch between melee and ranged when necessary.
