The newest 5-star release coming to Genshin Impact Version 4.0 is Lyney, the Magician. Players were first introduced to the character in a trailer during the game’s launch. In this trailer, players were shown some of the kinds of characters that they would meet throughout their journeys in Teyvat. This included Lyney and his sister, Lynette, who acted as representatives of the Fontaine region. Years later, Lyney has finally been released into Genshin Impact itself. With powerful Pyro skills and an interesting kit, Lyney is a worthy team addition. Here is the best Lyney Pyro build in Genshin Impact if you were lucky enough to get the character.
What Is Lyney’s Best Build?
Lyney is a powerful Pyro, bow-wielder in Genshin Impact, and functions mainly as a primary DPS. The best Lyney builds in Genshin will revolve around increasing the character’s Basic Attack and Charge Shot damage, making him a solid character on the field. Additionally, Lyney has an odd quirk that causes him to consume HP whenever he does a Charge Shot. However, with some new Artifact sets, we can use this to our advantage rather than ruining the character.
Lyney’s Best Artifacts
The best Artifact sets to build on Lyney would have to be the newest set, Marechaussee Hunter. For its 2-PC bonus, this set will increase Normal and Charged Attack damage by 15%. Already, this is an excellent choice for a Main DPS like Lyney. Additionally, for the 4-PC set bonus, the Marechaussee Hunter will increase Crit Rate by 12%, up to 36%, whenever the active character’s health changes. This pairs wonderfully with Lyney’s health consumption on Charge Shots, making a wonderful synergy. For players who don’t have time to grind the newest set, the Crimson Witch of Flames set is another strong choice. This set is perfect for players focusing on strong Elemental Reaction teams.
Lyney’s Best Weapons
Next, one of the easiest and best aspects to handle for Lyney’s build in Genshin Impact. The First Great Magic is Lyney’s Signature Weapon and is designed with the character in mind. The bow will provide a great increase in Crit Damage as well as Charge Attack damage. Combined with a unique passive that can increase Attack and Movement Speed, this is a weapon to keep an eye out for. If players can’t get this weapon, some great free-to-play options include the Song of Stillness and the Prototype Crescent. Each of these bows can be crafted, making them very easy to obtain.
Lyney’s Best Team Comps
Lyney works very well for team comps for any team that utilizes many Pyro characters. Lyney’s damage is increased by the number of Pyro characters you have in your party. A mono-Pyro team may be great for supporting Lyney as the Main DPS. Using characters like Bennett for support, Xingling as a Sub DPS, and Toma for shields would make a strong showing. Additionally, players can substitute other Pyro characters as they see fit, though Bennett should stay in the party. Otherwise, any Melt or Overload Reaction team would be strong with Lyney. Although if players do run this team, they should use the Crimson Witch Artifact set rather than Marechaussee Hunter to maximize Lyney’s best build potential in Genshin.
Lyney’s Best Constellations and Talents
Finally, the Constellations for Lyney are a bit easier than the rest of the build. Most of the time, players can only have one chance at Lyney, though some fortunate players can unlock him a few additional times. The best Constellation to look out for on Lyney is his second upgrade. This will increase his Crit Damage by a massive amount, allowing him to reach his full damage potential. Besides, each other Constellations is good but doesn’t provide the same huge buffs. In the end, for the best Lyney build possible, players will want to look out for his C2 upgrade.
Ultimately, Genshin Impact players should first focus on leveling Lyney’s Normal Attack for Talent upgrades. This isn’t as much of a priority since all of the Talents will be maxed out by the end. Second, players can prioritize either their Burst or Skill. The Skill does provide a bit more damage and utility than his Burst, so it may be worth considering that first.
