Ubisoft’s FPS pits various factions from their shooter titles into fast-paced competitive arenas. From Splinter Cell‘s famous espionage experts Echelon to Far Cry‘s rag-tag Libertad, all group members are armed with skills and highly customizable weapon loadouts. While unique abilities and Ultras can turn the tide of battle, all operators must still rely on their wits and personal firearms to fight. Learn which guns are the best fit for your XDefiant loadout with our weapons tier list.

Best Weapons per Category

Our XDefiant weapon tier list includes all 24 Season 1 guns divided into 7 categories. Then we separate them into 4 tiers, each tier describes their ease of use in competitive scenarios:

  • S-tier weapons are the cream of the crop; easy to use and very deadly.
  • A-tier weapons are extremely strong although they come with one or two shortcomings.
  • B-tier guns are quite decent and work as starters, but are eclipsed by better gears.
  • C-tier guns are disappointing and underperform.

XDefiant Assault Rifles: Best to Worst Weapons

  • ACR: Has the highest fire rate and best control out of all Assault Rifles. Easy to use and very powerful.
  • AK-47: The most damaging Assault Rifle if we talk about pure damage, but can be hard to control.
  • MDR: Very reliable gun but outclassed by a better, meta Assault Rifle. You can’t go wrong with this if you want to use an off-meta pick.
  • M16: Pretty solid but the three-round burst might feel a bit awkward for most players compared to full auto guns. Very good if you can get the jump on people or snipe them from afar.
  • M4A1: Solid gun but has slower TTK than other full autos.

SMG: Best to Worst Guns

  • MP7: The most versatile SMG; good at range and comes with a loaded 35 rounds mag.
  • Vector: Has the fastest TTK out of almost every full auto, close-range gun. Very lethal.
  • P90: Lets you carry 90 rounds and can be effective for mid-range firefights. Quite good.
  • MP5A2: Decent SMG but the damage is the lowest of the bunch.

XDefiant Machine Gun: Best to Worst Weapons

  • M249: High RPM, highest damage in the game, and a huge amount of bullets — 100 rounds! — per mag. Pretty crazy considering this is the default MG. Don’t forget to ADS because hip-spraying is still highly ineffective.
  • M60: Decent in terms of damage but very slow and inefficient.
  • RPK: Has better maneuverability than M60 but has lower damage and is still slower compared to other weapon types in general.

Sniper Rifles: Best to Worst Guns

  • TAC-50: Your standard, ol’ reliable sniper rifle. One-shot one-kill, quickscoping, you name it; this bad boy can handle it.
  • M44: While it’s still a decent long-range weapon, it has less firepower than TAC-50. Unless you can reliably headshot your target, it’ll take 2 shots to defeat the enemy.

Marksman Rifles: Best to Worst Guns

  • MK20 SSR: Low fire rate but very strong, only need 2 shots to kill. Get shorter-range optics like Red Dot for better performance.
  • SVD: Works very similarly to Mk20. Pick whichever you like for the aesthetic.

XDefiant Shotgun: Best to Worst Weapons

  • M870: If TAC-50 is the long-range version of “one-shot one-kill,” then this is its exact opposite. You’ll never lose close-range shootouts with this bad boy.
  • Double Barrel: High damage output but very slow, making you an easy prey if you miss your target.
  • AA-12: Has too high TTK; basically needs to spend 4 shots or half the mag to down an enemy.

Sidearm: Best to Worst Guns

  • 93R: High fire rate, a very versatile and competent side weapon.
  • D50: High damage and faster than Magnum because it uses a standard magazine. Great for quickscoping.
  • 686 Magnum: Good damage but can be slow especially when reloading.
  • M1911: Slightly better than M9 but outgunned by better sidearms.
  • M9: Standard issue sidearm, get the job done but nothing special.
