In Graveyard Keeper, copper, silver, and gold coins are essential for your survival. Next, you will learn the best money making methods in Graveyard Keeper. Just like in Stardew Valley, it’s a bit difficult to earn your first coins, but as you progress through the game, you will find more and more opportunities. Below, we’ll tell you about the optimal earning options you can focus on.
Best Methods for Earning Money in Graveyard Keeper
(Updated on October 11, 2024 – updated links and format)
There are plenty of ways to earn money in Graveyard Keeper, although it will be quite difficult for you to do so from the very beginning. Below are some of the tips that you can use.
Sell meat
One of the first ways to make money that will be available to you from the start of the game is by selling the meat you get when you dissect corpses. Each time you perform an autopsy, you will have the opportunity to cut off a piece of meat to sell it later. But it’s not that simple, you can’t just go and sell it to the first person who passes by. To complete this, you will need to prove that the meat you want to sell is authentic (meaning animal meat, not obtained from corpses) and you can do this by getting a food stamp, and there are two ways to receive it:
- Become friends with Snake: by completing a significant part of the tasks in this character’s quest line, you will gain 30 reputation with him, thus being able to get a food stamp.
- Purchase through Royal Services: you will have access to this, in the mailbox in front of the church, but you must pay 50 silver.
Once you have the stamp, you can create and then sell a meat package using only 1 piece of meat and 1 paper for crafting.
Sell Burial Certificates
Another great method to make money in Graveyard Keeper is selling burial certificates. Burial certificates are another item you can get from a dead person. This is a constant source of income because it is directly related to your main job. After each buried or cremated body, you will receive such a certificate.
Collect as many as possible and keep them because you can sell them to Horadric, the owner of the Dead Horse Tavern. He will pay you 1 silver and 50 copper coins for each burial certificate. This may not seem like a lot of money, but you’ll change your mind once you come to a tavern with many certificates, which are straightforward to collect.
Sell Graphite
Selling graphite is a more passive way of earning money in Graveyard Keeper and, accordingly, will bring less profit. All you need to do is put in a few furnaces and try to upgrade them as much as possible because the efficiency of this system depends on it.
- Level 2 furnace: Gives you 1 graphite for 5 coal
- Level 3 furnace: Gives you 2 graphite for 5 coal
Accordingly, the more level 3 furnaces you have, the more profit you will make. You will receive 40 copper coins for each graphite. It sounds not that much, but multiply it by the amount of graphite you will receive with proper preparation, and you will get a good number.
Make Crates With Goods
As you progress in the story, there will come a point where you can open a sales office in the front yard of your house to create crates of goods. This is not easy to do, as you’ll need to befriend a Trader and complete a series of quests related to him. When you have 30 reputation with him, you can conclude a business deal, but for this, you will need a Trade License, which will cost 50 silver coins.
Once you have established a relationship with the Merchant and obtained a license, you will be able to create these crates to sell them at these prices in the future:
- Silver crate – 10 silver and 75 copper coins
- Gold crate – 16 silver and 50 copper coins
- Goods crate – 15 silver coins
This method is much more profitable than all of the above, so we recommend using it as soon as you have the opportunity.
