Destiny 2‘s new Prismatic subclass honestly has so many fun builds that can be made for each class, but the Hunter has some extra cool ones. Using things like Shadowshot: Deadfall, Threaded Spike, and Duskfield Grenades has never been an option before–not at the same time, anyway. With the limits removed and awesome new Exotic Class Item combinations to use, this build will surely prove extravagant in a fight.

Abilities
So, the main mechanic I really want to focus on with this Hunter build is tethering enemies. Using Shadowshot: Deadfall, you’ll be able to keep enemies in place all while Weakening and Suppressing them. Add in your Duskfield Grenades to further slow and freeze enemies after shattering on them, and then finally, dig out your Threaded Spike melee ability.
Threaded Spike is a great addition to the already great-for-immobilizing build, and you’ve got a dart that jumps from one target to the next, dealing damage, then heading back to you to regain some of your melee energy based on how many targets you hit.
If you play your cards right, you’ll be able to use your grenade, drop your super, then use your melee ability to slow down, trap and weaken, then absolutely annihilate enemies in that order. Because you’ll be hitting so many targets at once with your Threaded Spike, the amount of melee energy returned to you will be quite a bit, allowing you to use the ability much more often.
- Shawdowshot: Deadfall – Tether foes to a Void Anchor, weakening and suppressing them for you and your allies. The Void Anchors fired from Shadowshot pull targets toward the impact point, which then become traps and wait for prey. Void Anchors have increased range and last longer.
- Acrobat’s Dodge – Dodge to perform an acrobatic leap. Upon landing make yourself and nearby allies Radiant and deal damage to nearby enemies.
- Triple Jump – While airborne, sustain your control with a second or third jump.
- Duskfield Grenade – A grenade that shatters on impact, leaving behind a field that slows targets and freezes those who do not leave the volume.
- Threaded Spike – Throw a rope dart that bounces between targets, damaging and severing them. The dart will return to your once it’s done, returning melee energy to you for each target hit. Pressing your Melee button just as the dart gets back to your to catch it increases the amount of energy returned.
Aspects
There are quite a few Aspects available for a Prismatic Hunter, but for this build, we’re going to be focusing on Threaded Specter and Stylish Executioner. Threaded Specter works pretty well with this build, simply because throwing out a decoy to attract enemies just before freezing them all then hitting them with the Threaded Spike just means there will be more enemies in one location, and thus, much more damage dealt and regained Melee energy.
Stylish Executioner, on the other hand, takes all the weakened and suppressed enemies from your Shadowshot: Deadfall Super and grants you both Invisibilty and Truesight after you defeat them. Invincibility might not be fully obtainable, but this build makes it pretty close with the amount of time you’ll spend invisible.
- Threaded Specter – Activating your class ability leaves behind a decoy woven from Strand matter that draws attention of nearby combatants. After taking significant damage or when combatants approach, the decoy detonates, dealing damage and releasing Threadlings that seek out and attack nearby foes.
- Stylish Executioner – Defeating a weakened, suppressed, or volatile target grants Invisibility and Truesight. After performing Stylish Execution, your next melee attack while invisible weakens targets.
Fragments
For this build, we chose to use the Facet of Justice, which makes any final blows with Acrobat’s Dodge become explosive while you are Transcendent and Facet of Balance, which makes it much easier to get that melee and grenade energy back whenever you’re rapidly defeating enemies.
Facet of Command automatically reloads your equipped weapons and gives you increased stats on it whenever you freeze or suppress an enemy, which coincidentally, happens quite often with your Super and Grenade abilities. Facet of Dominance weakens enemies on top of freezing them and slowing them now when you use your grenade, and Facet of Solitude will create Volatile enemies whenever you use a Finisher.
- Facet of Justice – While Transcendent, your ability final blows explode.
- Facet of Balance – Rapidly defeating targets with Light damage grants melee energy. Rapidly defeating targets with Darkness damage grands grenade energy.
- Facet of Command – Freezing or Suppressing a target reloads your equipped weapons and increases weapon Stability, Aim Assist, and Airborne Effectiveness. Defeating a Frozen or Suppressed target creates a Stasis Shard or a Void Breach.
- Facet of Dominance – Your Void grenades weaken targets, and your Arc grenades Jolt targets.
- Facet of Solitude – Finishers create a detonation that either Jolts, Scorches, Slows Severs or makes targets Volatile based on the damage type of your equipped Super.
Exotic Class Item Combination
Now, we’ve already got a way to get some wicked melee ability recharge times, and you can get your grenade energy back pretty fast with the Facet of Balance, but without the Spirit of Galanor on your Exotic Class Item, gaining back Super energy can be pretty time consuming.
Now, take that into account and how fast we’re be popping Supers back to back, and incorporate in the Spirit of the Star-Eater. While you have Super energy, any time you pick up an Orb of Power, your Super will be overcharged and allow you to deal even more damage, making the whole build fit together perfectly.
- Spirit of Galanor – Hits and final blows with your Super will return Super energy after your Super ends.
- Spirit of the Star-Eater – While your Super energy is full, picking up an Orb of Power overcharges your Super, granting it bonus damage.
Exotic Weapon
For this build, we’ll be using the Khvostov 7G-0X Auto Rifle. Much like the Threaded Spike melee ability, the Exotic Trait on this Auto Rifle makes every seventh bullet ricochet, which means more damage per shot. Though, if you’re lucky enough and can pick up some Orbs of Power, you’ll be able to shoot off many more ricochet rounds directly after.
Armor Stats
Because a lot of this Hunter Prismatic build relies on and even increases energy regeneration, having a high Discipline and Intellect stat can only make the build more effective. Having high Discipline decreases the cooldown on your grenades, while having higher Intellect will decrease your Super cooldown. With your melee energy already increasing with each use of your Threaded Spike, you’ve got a whole recipe for minimal cooldowns and maximum damage.
