Despite WoW Forever being a bit similar to what we experienced in Classic WoW or vanilla for the real adventurers out there, there are still a few things that are changing for this release, such as professions. Even if some recipes might be the same, this system has been expanded greatly, bringing things from Season of Discovery and even playing an important role in camping. And while all of those are great additions, people still look at professions as the real money-makers in WoW Forever, so here’s a list of the best you can grab at launch.
The Best Professions in WoW Forever
Before we get into the list, here are a few disclaimers. For starters, the “best” label for a profession in WoW Forever depends on the situation. Some are excellent for PvP, some for PvE, some for making money, and so on. So, we’ll try to break them down as such.
Best Professions for PvE
Rather than one or two ideal professions, the best you can do is pair professions depending on your class. This will help a lot when it comes to crafting weapons, armor, and even some consumables. Some of the combinations we recommend are as follows:
- Blacksmithing + Mining for Paladin, Warrior
- Leatherworking + Skinning for Hunter, Druid, Rogue, and Shaman
- Tailoring + Enchanting for Mage, Priest, and Warlock
The above combinations are ideal for PvE, especially during the leveling process. After that, you can swap some for the endgame ones, such as Engineering.
Best Professions for PvP
For PvP, it is much easier when it comes to choosing. You’ll only want to focus on four professions here: Cooking, First Aid, Engineering, and Alchemy. All of them provide items that give you buffs, healing, and other tools when it comes to facing other players. You’ll likely need to grab a gathering profession that pairs with the last two, such as Mining or Herbalism, but these combinations are excellent for PvP.
Best Professions for Making Money in WoW Forever
And now, let’s go over the more profitable professions you can grab. In truth, you’ll want to focus only on the gathering ones as you level up; that means Mining, Skinning, and Herbalism, with the latter two being the best of the three. Skinning, for instance, can be quite tedious for some players, meaning some will skip it and look for items at the AH. So, leveling it up as you go through each zone will be a great source of income. The same happens with Mining and Herbalism. So, if you’re only in for the money, go for any of these.
While we could recommend a few endgame profession choices for WoW Forever, we don’t know how the endgame environment will look. Yet, once we make it to level 60, we’ll update this guide or make a separate one to show you which ones people will use the most.
