Every single MMO out there requires players to make some important choices, mainly the race and class combos they’ll pick, and that applies to WoW Forever. Even if many see this iteration of World of Warcraft as just another retelling of Classic, that isn’t the case, meaning that some combos that worked in the past may not be the best here. So, if you’re jumping into WoW Forever for the first time, here are the race and class combos we recommend for new adventurers.
Best PvE & PvP Race and Class Combos in WoW Forever

Let’s go over both PvE and PvP rulesets that are coming at launch. While most race and class combos are great in WoW Forever, especially for PvE content, there are a few that just perform better in some instances.
- Human Paladin:Â First, let’s start with one of the classics, both in-game and lore-wise. Human Paladins are excellent in PvE content thanks to the new Human racial abilities that increase critical strike and spirit. Both of them will be great for every Paladin spec, making Humans the go-to Paladin choice for all races.
- Skyborne Shaman (Horde):Â Now, we’ll go over the new kids on the block, who are rolling in as Shamans when part of the Horde faction. The reason why this class and race combo works so well is thanks to the Haste bonus from Skyborne, which will be extremely helpful for all specs of this class.
- Night Elf Druid: Going back to classics, there’s a reason why Night Elves and Druids go together so well in promotional materials, trailers, and so on. With the new racial abilities, Night Elf Druids are the best, all thanks to Elune’s Light, which makes certain specs shine (no pun intended) in all the right situations.
- Gnome Mages: As expected, the new Eureka! racial ability is busted for casters, mainly Mages, meaning that these two together work exceedingly well.
- Troll Warlocks: Just like Gnomes getting a neat skill to increase spell damage, Trolls’ new regeneration ability is just as helpful, if not more. If you want to do some spellcasting under the red banner, go for this race and class combo, as it is one of the best in WoW Forever.
- Orc Hunter: While Dwarves could also be here, we feel Orc Hunters are the best combo, especially as their passive racial ability increases the damage of their pet, which is extremely helpful for Beast Masters.
- Gnome Rogues (PvP): Even if the above combos work better in PvE environments, once that remains to be quite strong is the Gnome Rogue. Their ability to escape certain stun effects is a must-have in PvP, and while the class doesn’t benefit from Eureka! that much, Expansive Mind makes up for it by giving rogues an energy boost.
- Human Warriors (PvP): Just like the above, Human Warriors are excellent in PvP due to the passive critical hit increase as well as the ability to remove all stun effects for a while. On top of that, Perception is key to locating enemy rogues, whether in a battleground or out in open-world PvP.
- Undead Priest: While we’re still not sure about this combo, the new passive racial skills from Undead work surprisingly well for Priests, especially Touch of the Grave, when it procs, of course. And of course, Cannibalize is the main dish here, or the main dish server, rather, as it will let you keep that mana pool up during pulls.
Despite the above being strong contenders for the best class and race combos in WoW Forever, as we always say, just go for the one that appeals to you the most. Instead of looking for the meta, try to look for a class with a fantasy you like, and most importantly, a gameplay you enjoy.
