The third season of Better Call Saul has been doing a great job building multiple branching narratives while adding new ones yet still managing to make it all feel fresh and entertaining.
Easily one of the best of those new narratives introduced this season revolves around an old rivalry from Breaking Bad, between Gus Fring and Hector Salamanca. We know why Fring hates Salamanca because he killed his partner. But why does Salamanca hate Fring?
While the show revealed that Salamanca hates Fring enough to work with Walter White and kamikaze himself and Fring, it seems the answer will be revealed in Better Call Saul, and that it has a lot to do with Mike Ehrmantraut. Last episode it was divulged that Fring was the man following Mike and that, though he can’t have his competition (Hector Salamanca) to be dead, he will help him ruin his business.

Next time on Better Call Saul reveals the DEA raiding the restaurant Salamanca uses as a front and has multiple interactions between either Mike and Gus or one of Gus’ subordinates, including a returning Victor (no box cutters).
While it may seem like it’s going to be a Mike oriented episode again, the paths of each narrative seem to be leading back to each other.
Jimmy is also seen in the preview, eating – or at least sitting down with – Mike at the retired cops favorite diner. How will his involvement with all this affect his upcoming trial? Or is it limited to a small interaction like his stakeout for Mike was last time?

Could involvement of the DEA lead to a nice cameo from a certain brother in law who enjoys collecting minerals?
And the most important question of them all, whose office was Gus ominously standing in the doorway of at the end of the preview? A book collection, framed (Law?) certificates and even a framed first dollar made? The anticipation, as always, is killing me!
I know it’s probably killing you too, so be sure to check back to the site for our official review of Better Call Saul’s fourth episode of the season, which will go up Monday immediately following “Sabrosito” at 10 pm EST.
