Beyonce‘s mom recently issued a statement saying her Instagram was “hacked.” The post arrived hours after fans noticed she liked an IG post about Jay Z’s recent lawsuit. In case you missed it, the rap legend was recently accused of raping a 13-year-old girl in 2000. It’s the same lawsuit that was filed against Diddy in October 2024. However, Jane Doe refiled it to include Jay, whose real name is Shawn Carter.
Once news of the lawsuit broke, several outlets began covering it. Bey’s mom, Tina, liked a post made by ABC7 Chicago. The post read: “Jay-Z, Diddy named in a lawsuit alleging rape of girl, 13.” However, in a new statement, she made it clear where she stands. So, what did she have to say?
Tina Has Her Family’s Back in New Instagram Post
In a new Instagram post, Beyoncé’s mom addressed the noise, saying her account was “hacked.”
“As you all know, I do not play about my family,” she wrote. “So, if you see something uncharacteristic of me, just know that it is not me!” Tina took it further, also leaving a message in the caption. “Please stop playing with me!” She also quoted a Bible verse: “No weapon formed against my family shall prosper.”
Fans responded in the comments section, questioning the validity of her statement.
“How you get hacked and they only liked one post?” someone wrote. “You have a whole PR team and this is what you guys come up with,” another commented. “Lmfao, girl, who hacked you this time?” a third posted.
Tina’s IG slip-up isn’t the first time she’s been in the news about this behavior. In May 2024, she experienced something similar and addressed it swiftly. “You know how many times I’ve liked something that was negative about my own children? Because if I’m busy and I’m going through the thing, I’m like, ‘Oh, there’s Beyoncé and so and so. I like that.’ Then the fans come back and say, ‘Miss Tina, please erase that because you’re liking some negative post.’”
Jay Z Responds
Before Beyonce’s mom claimed she was “hacked,” Jay Z addressed the lawsuit in a statement online. In a statement made from his @RocNation X account, the Brooklyn-born rapper said he was the victim of a “blackmail attempt.” He went on, saying a lawyer, Tony Buzbee, and his client were trying to use Jay for money. “My heart and support goes out to true victims in the world,” the post read. He mentioned his upbringing, saying his hometown has “strict codes and honor.” He finished with a chilling sentence: “I look forward to showing you just how different I am.”
In a new filing, Jay’s lawyer, Alex Spiro, asked the judge to dismiss the lawsuit. “For the avoidance of doubt, Mr. Carter is entirely innocent. This is a shakedown.”
Reaction seems divided online. Some have rallied behind Jay, encouraging him to fight. On the other hand, others have mentioned the importance of believing victims. We’ll have to see what happens.
