Tina Knowles served it hot to trolls who found her daughter Beyonce wanting after her NFL Christmas halftime show. The superstar played a significant part on Wednesday, performing at the halftime show during Netflix’s NFL debut, garnering the streamer the highest-ever NFL streaming ratings. Beyonce had her daughter Blue Ivy perform alongside her, making for an electrifying show at the Texans-Ravens game. However, a fan’s unedited clip from the performance has fans rethinking the entire show.
The controversial clip, shared on X captured the mom-of-three on stage with her daughter. However, unlike the version that won fans over on Netflix broadcasts with its synchronized beats, dance moves, and lighting, the streamlined visuals and sound sync seemed fuzzy in the raw clip, making the halftime show appear like a poorly rendered performance by amateurs. Fans did not hold back in pointing this out after the unedited clip from the NFL Christmas Halftime show went viral on social media, calling out Beyonce’s apparent lack of talent.
Although some stepped up in her defense explaining the poster’s possibly low-quality camera or a problem in the stadium’s audio equipment may be the culprit. However, others suggested Netflix likely enhanced the streamed version for a better viewing experience, leaving many questioning the authenticity of live shows. Several internet users, and even celebs like Dave Portnoy, have since bashed the halftime performance, tearing down the star in the process. Critics also slammed the star for making a gun hand gesture during her performance despite its NFL ban.
Tina Knowles, Beyonce’s mom, isn’t having any of that. The 70-year-old took to Instagram this weekend to defend her daughter’s performance while hitting back at her trolls. In the scorching post, the proud mom admitted she found it mind-boggling that anyone would spend time on Christmas Day to watch a performance of someone they claimed they hated; she described these critics as “obsessed” and “addicted” to Beyonce, evidenced in their decision to dedicate their Christmas to watching the NFL halftime performance despite claiming she had no talent. Tina fired,
“Obviously you are obsessed with them, addicted to them, and secretly admire them, wished you could be them, that you cannot help but watch and critique and say dumb and ridiculous stuff that makes you look like a joke!!”
Tina Knowles suggested Beyonce’s critics were better off tuning in to another channel during the NFL Christmas halftime show and watching shows like Bozo the Clown instead, which could have better resonated with them.
After dropping her scalding clapback, Beyonce’s mom praised the singer, saying she has “learned so much from her warrior spirit, of when they go low I work harder.” Regardless of haters’ opinion, Beyonce’s NFL halftime Christmas show was a huge success, pulling in over 27 million viewers on Netflix.
