Activision has launched a new multiplayer-only version of Call of Duty: Black Ops III on Steam, and it is significantly cheaper than the full version of the game. This new starter pack is running for a limited time only, until February 29, and is $15 rather than $60.

There are many benefits to purchasing this limited version of Black Ops III. If you find you want the full version of the game after all, you can upgrade at a reduced price. The multiplayer starter kit offers quite a bit, including access to public ranked matches and features like the weapon paint shop, gunsmith, and black market. However, it does not include the campaign or the zombies mode, and any new mods will not be included either. Therefore, if you discover that you do want more, it is comforting to know that you will not have to pay full price.

In addition, if you want to play Black Ops III for the competitive aspect, this multiplayer pack is not for you. Levels are capped at 55, so prestige is off-limits.

But if you’re looking for a taste of what Call of Duty: Black Ops III has to offer, this new starter kit is just right for you. The latest edition of Call of Duty has earned many praises and was even named the top-selling game of 2015. The multiplayer functions in particular, have always been one of the Black Ops series’ strongest points. So if you don’t already have this game, the multiplayer starter pack is well worth checking out.
