Once again, we’re at the peak of Call of Duty Zombies with the Black Ops 6 Citadelle des Morts ending cutscene connecting the dots from Vanguard all the way to the Black Ops 2 Zombies Origins map. The reveal is a mind-blowing scenario pulled out by Treyarch, and here’s what it means for the future of the Black Ops 6 Zombies storyline, as well as the possible reveal of the next DLC map we’ll probably be getting in Season 2 Reloaded.
What Happens In The Citadelle des Morts Ending?
We’re tasked with rescuing a man called Gabriel Krafft in Black Ops 6 Zombies Citadelle des Morts map, someone who knows how to achieve the Sentinel Artifact. This is a direct relation to Black Ops 4 Zombies, with even crazier details revealed in the ending and in-game audio logs found on the map.
So we learn that Gabriel Krafft went to an orphanage sometime before or after the Vanguard Zombies. He visits the orphan Edward Richtofen there, adopting the child. But then he realizes that Eddie keeps seeing nightmares about the past he has already forgotten. One of the dialogues that really does blow our mind is where Krafft says Eddie keeps saying “It’s my turn” in his sleep, which is an explicit reference to the Black Ops 2 Zombies Origins cutscene where child Eddie and Sam are playing, and he never gets to set the rules for the game.
In the final cutscene of the Black Ops 6 Citadelle des Morts Gabriel Krafft dies from the zombie bites, but he also reveals one more super important thing about the upcoming Zombies content, and that’s the Origins map itself. He mentions a dig site near Citadelle des Morts, which we later learn by the intel files in the game that’s created by none other than Alister Rhodes of BO4.
Black Ops 2 Origins map is in the dig site 64 in northern France, and Citadelle des Morts is near it. Ravenov, alongside the rest of the crew, is heading there to find the Sentinel Artifact, and that could only mean that we’re either going to see a remake of Origins or it’s somewhere near the exact dig site that we played on in an alternate timeline almost 15 years ago.
Citadelle des Morts was an amazing map on its own, but its ending reveals something even greater that’s coming in future updates. With everything that we’ve seen so far in the story, it is absolutely possible to see the Origins map return, Edward Richtofen playing a major role, and maybe the staff wonder weapons return in the next BO6 Zombies map. We can’t wait!
