Despite all the issues that have been killing CoD for many people and streamers alike, Treyarch has posted a new update about the next patch for Black Ops 6 in the new year, and it’s an exciting one for the Zombies fans. There will be bug fixes, buffs to the swords, and new game modes to enjoy while cheaters still walk among us in the Ranked lobbies of Warzone and BO6.

This is a brief patch note released by Treyarch minutes ago on X. As you can see, the main focus of this update is new game modes, which is probably all about the new Squid Games crossover event on Jan 3, 2025. There will be mini-games inspired by Squid Games in Warzone and Zombies teased in the recent BO6 trailers like Red Light Green Light, for example.
As for the Zombies, the Elemental Swords in Citadelle des Morts are getting buffed, and I hope it’s a good one. These wonder weapons are nice, but their powers are not something to rely on. There’s also a mention of Citadelle des Morts bug fixes with this Black Ops 6 new year update, which could be for the main easter egg issues, like when you couldn’t pick the orb obtained by saluting the statues.
All in all, the update is not addressing any of the current issues with the game. There are server lags, BO6 Zombies solo not working properly, cheaters, and the fact that we can’t turn off the crossplay to avoid them. The devs may not fix these until Season 2, and we’re a month away from that, so great!
