Ever since the change of Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 to regular Warzone, we knew that Call of Duty was going to support this game as it is, at least for the next three to four years. Call of Duty HQ is already welcoming Black Ops 6, and with it, we’ll have Warzone integrations coming up after the mainline title’s release. According to the leaks, Black Ops 6 will add more to the house of Warzone, including a brand new Resurgence map and the return of a fan-favorite BR battleground.
As reported by the Modern Warzone on X, Treyarch is tasked with planning a new Resurgence map coming to Warzone after the release of Black Ops 6. The date is unknown. It could be right after BO6‘s first season, or they might keep us waiting for a new map until 2025. However, we know the name of this fresh Resurgence playground: Area 99.
Googling the name to find a global location is a waste of time, as all you’d get is the blue hedgehog. But the first thing that comes to mind after hearing the name is Area 51, that mystery of the old. Is this connected to that myth? Could be. Treyarch always loves to give fans a mystery box to play with.
With Black Ops 6 adding a new Resurgence map for Warzone this year, it’d be a fresh playground for that game mode since we got Vondel two years ago. We’d probably still be able to play the current Resurgence maps like Rebirth Island and Vondel on rotation after Black Ops 6‘s release.
Besides, there’s some good news on the return of our good old Verdansk. Black Ops 6 is set in the 90s, so Verdansk is still untouched by that time of the Call of Duty calendar. Rumor has it that it won’t be around until the mid-year of Black Ops 6’s lifecycle.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be available on October 25, 2024, for PS5, PS4,
