Treyarch is going back to its roots with Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies by bringing back the sweet taste of the round-based experience. The news has created waves of excitement for the long-term Call of Duty fans, and the developers have already teased two maps coming to the game at launch. One of these maps (the Terminus) is showcased in Black Ops 6 Zombies teaser videos, and, it looks like it’s a returning piece from Call of Duty: Worlds at War.
Reusing assets from the different game modes and maps is what Call of Duty has been doing since, like, forever. For instance, one of the best Warzone Resurgence maps known as the Rebirth Island was first introduced as a Zombies map in Mob of the Dead, AKA the Alcatraz prison. Now the Black Ops 6 ZombiesTerminus map seems to be a remake of a dusty Multiplayer map from 2008.
It doesn’t take a pair of zooming glasses to see the similarities between Terminus Island and the Battery from World At War. Back from the grave, Battery was introduced in the 2008 Call of Duty title in its Multiplayer mode. The size, structure, and those mighty cannons are just yelling Battery out of the Terminus Black Ops 6 Zombies map.
However, this map isn’t going to be on the same scale as Battery though. For a remake and greenified version of it in Black Ops 6, there’ll be more room to discover. Battery was designed with limitations of the past, while Terminus will go deeper into the map’s details to let us explore. Speaking of which, you can explore Terminus Island with a set crew that has related dialogues to the story or pick your favorite operator for fighting zombies.
This is while the other Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies map is rumored to be a new iteration of Tranzit from BO2. The map is called Liberty Falls, a town in West Virginia that looks pretty much like Tranzit with a bus circling it. There is no official footage of this map in the Zombies mode though, so we’ll have to wait for more details.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is set to release on October 25, 2024.
