After following teasers and enduring Mister Peeks’ jump scares over on TheTruthDies website, we now finally have our first look at the official cinematic intro for the Black Ops 6 Zombies Terminus Island. Call of Duty has released a brand new trailer for the map, bringing back some of our beloved Zombies characters from Black Ops Cold War and a name drop that’d blow your mind if you’re a CoD Zombies fan. Here’s everything you need to know about the Black Ops 6 Zombies Terminus Island trailer with all the easter eggs and detailed breakdown.
Where Is Terminus Island and Why Is It Important?
So the trailer starts with a shot from Terminus Island, mentioning the time and date. It is February 19, 1991, and we’re looking over at a prison on an island located somewhere in the Philippine Sea. Terminus Island is where Edward Richtofen, the Director, has sent the Requiem crew after capturing every single one of them by the end of Black Ops Cold War Zombies.
And, BOOM! Edward Richtofen’s name is finally addressed completely after 6 years, and Nolan North is back to voice the character! So while we have no idea what secrets this island holds, it’s quite evident that this location has something to do with Eddie Richtofen’s secret plans. Just like Liberty Falls, Terminus Island is another playground for the Director to further expand his projects.
Who Are The Terminus Island Map Characters in Black Ops 6 Zombies?
Besides Richtofen’s return and the spooky look at Terminus Island and its Mob of The Dead cells vibe, there are a number of returning and a new character in this Black Ops 6 Zombies cinematic trailer.
First, we have Gregori Weaver. We know Weaver from all the way back on Mount Yamantau in Black Ops 1. The CIA agent used to work with Jason Hudson, the handler, and then he joined the Requiem group in Black Ops Cold War. Weaver fought the undead and helped close the dimensional portals during the 80s as part of the Requiem, after which he got captured and sent to the Terminus Island prison by Edward Richtofen.
Then there’s Mackenzie “Mac” Carver, Elizabeth Gray, who is MW3 Zombies Dr. Ava Jansen’s biological mother, Raptor 1, and Oskar Strauss as part of the disbanded Requiem team. William Peck, the one who we last saw in the Black Ops Cold War Zombies ending cutscene, is here to save these people as they share a common enemy. However, he does so with the help of an elite force, Maya Aguinaldo.
Who Is Maya Aguinaldo?
Maya Aguinaldo is a Filipina smuggler who presumably works as a free agent for open contracts. The character is seen as Dr. William Peck’s agent in the trailer, dealing to work with the man to save her brother from Terminus Island in return.
The Black Ops 6 Zombies Terminus Island trailer raises more questions than answers for Maya, like who is her brother? Why is he captured? And does she know anything about Requiem and the zombie outbreak? Unfortunately for us, we don’t know any of these, at least for now.
Shangri La? That You?!
The Black Ops 6 Zombies Terminus Island trailer doesn’t give us some big and bold easter eggs to break down, but there’s one tiny detail that many of you may have missed. Did you recognize the soundtrack played by the prison guard while he was tuning the noise? This is Pareidolia by Elena Siegman from the Black Ops 1 Zombies map Shangri-La!
The Requiem Crew Knew Richtofen
Weaver is sitting in his cell, looking at a wall with a carved Richtofen name on it. So after all we’ve been through in Black Ops Cold War, where nobody even mentioned the Director’s name, all the Requiem members knew Edward Richtofen? That’s some big news that we need more details about later with Black Ops 6‘s release.
