To everyone’s surprise, the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies DLC 2 map will be released sooner than expected! Treyarch has outdone itself on the delivery, and after so many bugs and bad news, we’ve got the confirmation that the new Black Ops 6 Zombies map called The Tomb is coming in Season 2. It takes place right after the events of Citadelle des Morts, and here’s everything we know about the upcoming undead adventure.
Black Ops 6 Zombies The Tomb Map Release Date
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies DLC 2 map The Tomb will be released with Season 2 on January 28, 2025. This will be a hefty update, so prepare for at least a 30 GB download regardless of the platform.
Black Ops 6 Zombies: The Tomb Story and Details
By the end of Citadelle des Morts, we learn that our BO6 crew, Maya, Weaver, Carver, and Grey must head to a dig site near the castle to find the Sentinel Artifact. According to Treyarch, a British archeologist named Sir Archibald Fotherington-Smythe started his research on this site in 1908. Now, we don’t know who this guy is, but the origin of the dig site returns to 2500 B.C.E, which could be when the Great War took place in the Dark Aether universe we play in the new Zombies storyline.
Regardless, Black Ops 6 Zombies The Tomb map will feature the same experience as Liberty Falls, which is referred to as the most played Zombies map in recent years. That’d mean the map is more casual-friendly and you wouldn’t have to be a diehard Zombies fan to enjoy playing it. So, good news camo grinders, you’ve got a new Zombies playground!
Black Ops 6 The Tomb Features Several Nods To The Past
Almost everyone thought that a dig site map in northern France was going to be a remake of the Black Ops 2‘s Origin in a sense. However it’s not, but that doesn’t kill the mood for a good Zombies map that’s about to come.
First of all, Treyarch has directly addressed that there will be several nods to the other maps here and there with The Tomb. They say that every Zombies map is built from the ground up for this game mode, but there are references and probably reused assets, which could be very interesting if they are, in fact, putting in some Origins easter eggs for us to uncover; sweet!
Other than that, the wonder weapons for The Tomb Black Ops 6 Zombies map is something we’ve seen before in older maps. After months of rumors and following the data miners, Ray Gun Mark II is the number one candidate, but take this with a grain of salt as nothing is officially confirmed.
Also, it’s been mentioned that one of the best SMGs in the Zombies history is coming for The Tomb map, and it’s a bit mysterious statement to consider. Other than wonder weapons, ordinary guns didn’t play a memorable role in the Zombies history as long as I can remember. But we’ll also get three new Pack-A-Punch camos with this map, which is cool.
