While we’ve just been given some info about Black Ops 7 with the latest episode of CoD POD, there is more official news about the new Call of Duty game already. It seems like the Xbox app has leaked the news ahead of schedule, and a game mode with “large maps” is coming to the Black Ops 7 Multiplayer this year. Finally got something to use those Wing Suits for.
After an epic reveal teaser, we were waiting for the gameplay reveal to see what the new Call of Duty game looks like with in-game footage. Now it’s all spoiled, however, and here’s your first look at some of the Black Ops 7‘s operators and in-game engine screenshots:

As you can tell, the main theme of this year’s CoD is blue, there are some of the base operators in these pictures, and well, we got two game modes confirmed for the game. The first one is Overload, where you have to deliver an EMP device to the enemy’s HQ to score. But the second one’s the real deal.

Skirmish is the name of this new game mode that allows up to 40 players to play in a 20v20 objective-based game mode. That’s almost the exact population of a Warzone Resurgence match on Rebirth Island right there. Kills are not the priority in this mode, as you should either capture POIs, transmit data to the base, or destroy payloads. That’s way better than just a multi-capture objective on a big map.
The description literally addresses the usage of Wing Suits to travel across the map, meaning that there’ll probably be some sort of airborne infill each time you spawn in. That’s what we saw in the Black Ops 7 teaser trailer, and that’s how Treyarch is bringing back the scratched Warzone map Avalon as the “large map” without having to announce Blackout 2.0.
There are also rumors about Black Ops 7 featuring jetpacks as a gameplay mechanic, but the dev team has already confirmed that’s not happening with Call of Duty this year. The ambition comes from the fact that some characters in the screenshots have jetpacks on their back, but there should be another explanation for that.
