Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Release Date
There’s no official info on the Call of Duty 2025 release date. The game will have its full reveal in July/August, with expected in-game events and more trailers to come, which will lead to the announcement of the release date. Following the past years’ Call of Duty games releases, Black Ops 7 will probably be published worldwide in October/November of 2025. Xbox Game Pass subscribers will have Black Ops 7 in their library on day 1.
Black Ops 7 Campaign: Everything You Need To Know

- Emma Kegan is the CEO of the new The Guild in 2035
- No Blackout 2.0
- Co-Op story mode
- David Mason as the main character

- Story set in 2035 – 10 Years after the events of Black Ops 2
Leaks & Rumors:

- Most Campaign missions take place in Avalon
The Black Ops 7 teaser trailer played at the Xbox Showcase event was unlike anything we’ve seen from Call of Duty. You only know it’s CoD when Raul Menendez shows up to fire the hype train. The year is 2035, and the group known as The Guild in Black Ops 6 are now the tech pioneers that create advanced weapons and robots.

According to Miles Leslie in the latest episode of Call of Duty‘s official podcast, Emma Kegan is the CEO of The Guild in the year 2035, and she’s an important character to follow in the story. She looks to be a villain as she’s siding with Raul Menendez in the Black Ops 7 teaser trailer, but it’s quite evident that mind-bending tricks are all over the place in this Campaign. Trust no one.

Also confirmed in COD POD episode 006, the Avalon map you see in the Black Ops 7 teaser trailer is in the Campaign. In other words, no wing suits or Blackout 2.0 coming this year, so we have to stick with Warzone for longer. On top of that, the letters you see in the trailer are in fact showing Japan as one of the locations we’re going to visit in Black Ops 7 story mode.
The Black Ops 7 Campaign is officially confirmed to feature co-op mode which had its debut in 2008 with Call of Duty: World At War. There are rumors about playing as operators in the game, with hero-shooter elements. David Mason will probably have a leading role in this game.
Black Ops 7 Multiplayer: Everything You Need To Know

Official:
- Brand-new MP maps
- No Jetpacks
- Wall Jumping and enhanced Omnimovement
- Some of the Scorestreaks like an improved version of the Claw are showcased in the teaser trailer
Leaks & Rumors:
- Wall running movement mechanic
- tactical rolling movement mechanic
- Some BO2 remastered maps
- Sledgehammer Games is working on the Multiplayer mode of Black Ops 7
Before the reveal of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, most fans like me, thought that we’ll have a ton of remastered and remake maps from Black Ops 2 for this game. That made sense because MWIII from 2023 also featured 16 remastered maps from the OG MW2. However, the official post by Call of Duty on X has confirmed “Brand-new MP Maps.”

According to Treyarch, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will not feature jetpacks like in BO3 and BO4, however, it does come with an enhanced version of the Omnimovement. Not much info is shared by the officials about this new iteration of Omnimovement, but there’s wall jumping in the game, which sounds like a downgraded version of wall running. Lastly confirmed by Treyarch, some of the drones and bots you see in the BO7 teaser trailer are Scorestreaks.
Now on the leaks and rumors side of things, we can see some fantastic features coming to the game, including wall running. This was a feature in futuristic CoD titles like Advanced Warfare and BO3, and now it’s making a return with Black Ops 7. Codes and animations of wall running are already in the Black Ops 6 and Warzone files, so this is a 99.9% thing to happen with Call of Duty 2025.
However, another movement mechanic leaked almost 2 years ago for Black Ops 7, and that’s tac-roll. As the name suggests, you’ll be able to roll once you land, resulting in less fall damage. This is a feature that’s been in some Battlefield games before, and now it’s coming to Call of Duty.
Black Ops 7 Zombies: Everything You Need To Know

Official:
- Round-Based Zombies is the main focus
Leaks & Rumors:
- There will be no Outbreak or open world Zombies
- All maps will be in Dark Aether
- The original crew will return
- Grief
- Classic mode
With all the leaks and rumors about Black Ops 7, Zombies mode will be a huge focus of this year’s Call of Duty. As confirmed by the official post on X, Black Ops 7 will feature Round-Based Zombies as its main game mode. There’s nothing confirmed about the return of Outbreak or open-world maps, but there is a leak on BO7 featuring the biggest Zombies map ever. Tranzit 2.0 maybe.
Interestingly enough, Black Ops 7 is seemingly the first Call of Duty game in years to bring back the Classic mode for Zombies. This is a game mode in which you start the game with only a pistol, and have to grind to earn weapons from the mystery box or wall buys and upgrade them. Aside from that, an 8-player game mode is also among the leaks and rumors which is presumably Grief from BO6. Adding more weight to the leaks, the original Zombies crew of Richtofen, Dempsey, Nikolai, and Takeo are rumored to return in Black Ops 7!
