Blake Lively received mixed feedback to her hot pink minidress as she stepped out in yet another head-turning look this month. On August 7, the 36-year-old actress was photographed in a leggy corseted number while in NYC, but her night out made headlines for two reasons.
Alongside rocking her pink dress to the After-Party of her It Ends With Us movie premiere, Blake made global headlines for slipping into a colorful vintage Versace dress once worn by pop singer Britney Spears. When users on The Daily Mail saw the look, they largely sent Blake the thumbs-down, with more than one user implying that she was dressing way too young.
Blake Lively Turns Heads In Hot Pink Dress
Hitting pause on the floral themes she’s been rocking as her movie character Lily Bloom plays a florist, Blake channeled Barbiecore vibes in a thigh-skimming, bright pink dress.
Showing off her long, toned legs as she went plunging at the neckline, the wife to Ryan Reynolds highlighted her curves in her strappy number, one boasting a mix of shiny satin fabrics and girly lace embellishments. Looking bronzed as she popped against her fitted number, Blake threw in a pair of barely there, pink heels, opting for a sandal design while accessorizing her ensemble with a pink purse.
Rocking her blonde locks down as she kept glam with plenty of makeup, Blake reminded the cameras of her good looks, even wearing pink drop earrings for a fully-coordinated finish.
Told To ‘Dress Her Age’
Comments came in fast.
“The Britney dress is beautiful, on both. But that pink one is a definite no-no on anyone. Even Barbie herself,” one user replied, gaining over 200 upvotes. “The Taylor Swift effect on full display here folks. What is up with the holding hands and the Britney message…is she 12 years old?” another wrote.
Also thinking that Blake should’ve picked a slightly less girly-girl look was a user replying: “Needs to start dressing her age.” This comment earned over 80 likes. A further user even said that Blake needed to “grow up.”
Blake’s movie promo has been heavily style-focused and largely well-received. The star has rocked high-end designer Chanel and plenty of Christian Louboutin shoes on Instagram, where things have been doubly busy. Summer 2024 sees Blake launching her Blake Brown haircare line.
On August 4, Blake even wove in a mention of her Betty Buzz drinks brand into a promotional post for her movie. “I’ve got a dream! When your company throws a florist themed party for your movie,” she wrote while rocking another hot pink outfit.
