Marvel revealed during NYCC that its next big comic event will be Blood Hunt. This will be the first major comics event from the publisher for 2024. It features a main vampire-themed story from the creative team of Jed MacKay, Pepe Larraz, and Marte Gracia. Meanwhile, other yet-to-be-revealed creative teams will tackle the spin-offs and tie-ins for the vampire-themed event. Alongside the announcement, Marvel also revealed a trailer for the event. This trailer shows off the bloodsucking threats awaiting your favorite Marvel heroes.
The Blood Hunt Event Is Coming
Blood Hunt is set to focus on vampires as they try to crawl from the shadows and take over the Marvel Universe. According to Marvel, vampires have always been a part of the Marvel Universe. However, they have lurked in the shadows, waiting for their chance to strike. Now, in Spring of 2024, a long night plunges the Universe into darkness and gives them their chance.
The main narrative will come from MacKay, Larraz, and Gracia. However, this major event will spill out into a bunch of tie-in issues and spin-offs. Plus, an all-new limited series will launch out of the events of Blood Hunt. Marvel promises that this “startling saga” will see your favorite heroes struggle to stop this new “crusade of terror.”
A Small Bite
Alongside the announcement at NYCC, Marvel released a quick trailer for the event. It shows off a bunch of Marvel heroes as they struggle to take on the onslaught of the undead. Plus, Leinil Francis Yu and Sunny Gho show off a promotional image for Blood Hunt. Under the tagline “Who will bite it?”, the image shows heroes like Thor, Scarlet Witch, Miles Morale, and Blade as they fight a horde of vampires. Unfortunately, it is not looking good for the heroes.
Meanwhile, writer Jed MacKay also shared that this series explores what would happen if it was humans that were at the bottom of the food chain:
“We’ve got the Avengers, Moon Knights Midnight Mission, Doctor Strange, Miles Morales, and Blade…and there’s going to be more vampires than you can shake a stick at.”
