The Epic Games Store put out some information about their Mega Sale happening now. Games included in the sale is the pre-order of Borderlands 3 and Borderlands 2. The pre-order for Borderlands 3 has now been taken down. Previously with the sale, you still were able to pre-order Borderlands 3 with a $10 off discount. Now the game has been pulled from the sale and is registered as coming soon instead of pre-order. This has many in the community very confused and upset. Members of the community who pre-ordered the game from the Epic Store are now worried if they will even get the game.
Well, it seems that this is only a temporary solution. A representative of 2k has spoken out on this situation with Eurogamer, saying:
“”We are working closely with Epic and have temporarily removed Borderlands 3 from their storefront. We look forward to the game being back on the Epic Games store soon. Games bought during their Mega Sale will be honored at that price.””
As stated above, those who purchased the game before it was pulled from the Epic Games Store Mega Sale will have that purchase honored at that price. That includes the discount of $10 from the pre-order.
Borderlands 3 pre-orders receiving a price cut before the release of the game is an odd one for sure. But, for the new Epic Games Store to stay relevant to PC players while still in its infancy, the discount in their eyes had to be done. This Borderlands 3 news comes right off the heels of Bloodlines 2 making its exit from the Epic Game Store during the Mega Sale.
