A clip of the President of the United States allegedly falling asleep during his own inaugural meeting for the “Board of Peace” has been circulating on social media. Granted, formal meetings in the office can get a little boring sometimes, but this is a world leader we’re speaking of here. Dozing off during any meeting is both unprofessional and absolutely embarrassing.
According to The Daily Beast, even President Donald Trump himself said the Board of Peace meeting was tedious, saying that “It was a little bit at the boring side, but I didn’t sleep.” This isn’t the first time the Republican politician mascot has gone into dreamland during a notable event. Last June, millions watched Trump doze off during his birthday parade in Washington, D.C. Even back in 2024, during his campaign, Trump took a quick nap during an appearance in Florida, courtesy of Stuff resurfacing the incident.
There were other times were he clearly closes his eyes and sleeps during Cabinet meetings or other on-camera appearances, but just about every time, he denies it. Who can blame him, as everyone typically won’t admit to accidentally nodding off since it’s embarrassing. However, the irony here is that for years, Donald Trump insulted President Joe Biden with the nickname “Sleepy Joe.” “There’s no shame when it comes to hypocrisy with him,” exclaims a Redditor.
Many online users find Trump’s habit of sleeping on the job quite comparable to how he’s been trying to nod off the accusations and evidence of his crimes in the Epstein Files. “Dozzy Don needs to do some ‘splaining,” remarks one commenter, posting a link to a Facebook post about Katie Johnson’s lawsuit against Trump sexually abusing her.
In the end, however, President Donald Trump falling asleep during a meeting is most definitely an embarrassing moment and humiliating for countless Americans. However, it’s a minor distraction away from the other major problems and unrest across the nation that the administration has caused, ICE being one of the most major of them.
Falling asleep is actually one of the more ‘natural’ behaviors that Donald Trump has exhibited during these world leader meetings. He’s been on a streak of saying some erratically bizarre things. Confusing one country for another, namely Greenland and Iceland, is one thing, but to say people call you “Daddy” on international TV is certainly questionable behavior. Only time will tell if the government and voters come to their senses and make reasonable decisions come the midterm in November of this year.
