Brawlhalla publisher Ubisoft has announced today, during their E3 event, that the latest crossover for the free-to-play fighting game will be TMNT. With the crossover release just around the corner, gamers can expect to suit up as Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo as soon as June 16. Check out the trailer for the update below.

The crossover will be kickstarted with an in-game event that features a new game mode called ‘Crew Battles’. Players will be able to check out a new K.O. Effect featuring Shredder and the Foot Clan and new signature attacks from each of the Heroes in a Half-Shell. Master Splinter and Casey Jones will also be making appearances. There will be four new avatars featured in the update – the Foot Clan symbol, Krang, the Technodrome, and an animated avatar with all the Turtlesโ€™ faces. Finally, there will be new map art in the theme of the classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sewers available for both Free-For-All and 1v1 game modes. These new additions will persist beyond the end of the event, so don’t get worried that you will only have a limited chance to kick some shell.

Brawlhalla is certainly no stranger to TV crossovers (such as The Walking Dead or Adventure Time), so the inclusion of TMNT seems like a natural progression for the 2D fighter. The Brawlhalla Twitter page had teased the upcoming crossover reveal at E3 for a couple of weeks and it seems that the announcement has come with much surprise and excitement for the Brawlhalla community. Developer Blue Mammoth certainly know how to keep their fans happy with their updates. This collaboration between Ubisoft and media conglomerate ViacomCBS also begs the question – will we be seeing other TMNT-related games coming from the pair (or perhaps even other developers) in the near future? The upcoming release of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge certainly seems to indicate that the answer to that question is yes.

Are you excited about the upcoming TMNT crossover for Brawlhalla? Which turtle will you be your fighter of choice? Let us know down in the comments!
