For some reason, it seems like there is a rise in the number of thefts happening at jewelry stores. It happened several times in recent months, and now there is a new incident that took place in California. A brazen mob made up of over 20 thugs was filmed breaking into a jewelry store while armed. Through the camera footage, you could see a huge number of thieves rushing inside the store. Some of them had guns in their hands which they used to probably threaten the employees inside. Others were holding pickaxes and bags as they used the former to destroy the glass displays. They quickly gathered all the jewelry they could take before leaving the store.
The California mob seemed to have planned their theft well since around five cars were waiting for them outside. As soon as they left the store, they rushed to their cars and fled. Due to the huge numbers of those involved, it was to be expected that once one person got caught, they would lead them to the others. According to CBS News, police have so far managed to arrest six adults and one minor. It probably won’t take a lot for them to find the rest. Apparently, the jewelry they stole is worth $1 million. So while they might be delighted at that fact, their joy won’t last long as police keep looking for them. Let’s hope that the store owners will be able to recover from this horrifying event.
People Reacting to the Theft Organized by the California Mob
A lot of people were left surprised by the number of thugs that the California mob had. This made some believe that not all those involved would stay quiet. “Somebody is going to snitch. There’s way too many people,” one person wrote. Another person shared the same opinion as they said, “Trusting 24 other people to NOT snitch is crazy.” That is a good point. One person also guessed that one of the robbers believed they wouldn’t get caught. “Ik one person said ‘they cant catch us all,’” they commented. Someone else commented that with over 20 people, the group could have done something more useful. “Are we actually serious? 25 armed robbers? With 25 people you can make your own business,” they wrote.
There were also a lot of comments that joked about what the California mob did. Some people pointed out how they can’t even get their friend group to go out. “How do you get this many people to agree to this..and I can’t even get 3 homegirls to take a trip with,” one woman wrote. Another person joked that this is the result of the group chat’s plans actually happening as they said, “When plans make it out the gc.” Someone else thought that the thieves had no other option but to steal. “To Think we’re stuck in a phase in life where people have no choice but to steal to survive and pay bills… it goes to show how terrible our economy and government is…,” they said. That still doesn’t make this kind of theft okay, though.
