We’re at a time where there is more homophobia than ever, especially under the Trump administration. This kind of hate has encouraged a lot of individuals to resort to violence and attack the LGBTQ+ community. The most recent example of these attacks took place in Ohio, where a homophobic man decided to go around a neighborhood and burn pride flags. According to the OP, the guy set fire to several flags and not just one. There is Ring footage of him doing the exact same thing before walking away. Not only is this terrifying, but it is also unjustifiable. This shouldn’t happen to anyone.
In the video shared, the homophobic arsonist goes up to a house in the area and starts lighting a pride flag on fire. He waits until the entire flag is engulfed in flames before saying, “I hope it burns your f**king house you [homophobic slur] for all the babies you murdered bitch.” He then gets on his bicycle and rides away while the fire is still going on. This is just one example out of several, as other pride flags were also burned. He is the kind of coward to do this at night, too, so that he won’t be caught. His insane behavior made OP write mockingly, “Seems a nice and well-adjusted young man.” He definitely looks crazy. Plus, how did the LGBTQ+ community kill babies in any way? In fact, they are the ones being targeted today. It’s just weird.

Of course, the entire Ohio community was disgusted and terrified by what they just saw. After all, this could have ended terribly in many ways. Someone believed that this attack can be qualified as attempted murder, as they said, “So, can this f”*k head be charged with hate crimes and attempted murder then??” This made someone else reply by saying, “‘I hope it burns your house down, fa**ot!’ Yep! Dude literally confessed his intent on video. That’ll be attempted murder, aggravated arson, and possibly a hate crime (AFAIK Ohio has ‘ethnic intimidation’).” The guy should definitely be arrested, especially since it has been reported that he attacked several streets. “This piece of shit hit houses on at least 8 streets and was allll over Northside,” one person wrote.
Unfortunately, a lot of people believed that the police wouldn’t do anything. This made the OP reply to someone asking them if they filed a police report by saying, “I wasn’t the target but am friends with one of the houses hit. As far as I know everybody reported to police but I have more faith in the internet to ID the guy. It’s a massive relief no one was harmed. This was around 4:45am.” It’s disturbing that people have more faith in the internet than in the police. Whose fault is that? In addition to this, several were horrified that this could have started a house fire. This made one Redditor write, “That’s f**kin insane. Pride flag or not, dude could have started a massive house fire. Charge him with serial arson.” Hopefully, he will be arrested soon.
