Luke Newton and Nicola Coughlan captured fans’ hearts with their love story in the third season of the Bridgerton series. Away from the Regency era storyline, it turns out the pair also share a beautiful relationship off-screen. Newton took to Instagram recently with a viral Bridgerton BTS clip featuring a lighthearted moment between him and Coughlan. The video showed the actress being secretly filmed while walking into a makeup trailer with a binder in hand. However, as Coughlan approached her chair, Newton suddenly popped out from his hiding spot below the counter, startling her. Scared out of her mind, the 37-year-old let out a shriek before running out of the room.
Newton then removed himself from his hiding place with a cheeky smirk on his face. “Payback!” the actor said as the person behind the camera laughed at the scene unfolding. “Polin part ✌ 10 day countdown,” Newton captioned the post, which also featured various pictures of him and Coughlan in character as Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington. The video left thousands of fans in stitches and they took to the comments section to share their thoughts. “And she never returned to the makeup trailer 😂,” one fan wrote. Another person commented, “Nicola being prank by Luke was hilarious! 😂😂😂 run baby run.” A third person shared, “😂😂 Her little legs couldn’t move fast enough! 😂😂 Please dub that with the Scooby Doo running around.” Others noted that they loved the relationship between Luke Newton and Nicola Coughlan.
The recent viral Bridgerton BTS clip comes two weeks after Coughlan pranked her onscreen love interest. In a BTS clip shared by director Andrew Ahn on Instagram Story, the co-stars were filming what appeared to be a ballroom scene, which was suddenly interrupted by a prank. The video showed Luke Newton and Nicola Coughlan in character, engaging in a dialogue. Next, music suddenly began playing in the background, sparking an instant reaction from Newton, who burst into laughter, as did the cast and crew. The surprise song was Cougar Town by the former British boy band South 4, which Newton was a member of before his Bridgerton days. Coughlan, who laughed as people danced along to the song, seemingly pulled off the prank. With Newton getting back at her, one wonders what she has in store for him.
