Britney Spears was likely joking when she told her Instagram followers that she’d “dropped 12 dress sizes” five days ago, although she has been making headlines for sparking concern with an apparent weight loss diet.
The pop princess, 42, updated her account looking pretty in pink last week, delivering another home fashion show and sticking to the “baby doll” dress style she’s recently said that she loves. Flaunting her toned legs as she rocked high heels and looked ready for a night out, Britney announced that this was her “favorite dress at the moment,” although she wasn’t so sure about the dress sizes she claimed to have “dropped.” Fans left the Grammy-winning artist over 71,000 likes. Celebrity likes were also left by socialite and close friend Paris Hilton, plus TikTok star Addison Rae.
Britney Spears Talks Weight Loss On Instagram
Swaying from side to side as she modeled a thigh-skimming minidress in baby pink, Britney channeled her girly side as she rocked cute puff sleeves and ruched accents around the bust, although her neckline was anything but innocent.
Flashing her curves as she smiled for the camera and posed on light-tiled floors, the “Toxic” singer sizzled as she wore black court shoes with a heel, adding height to her frame and wearing her light locks down.
Accessorizing her dress with a black choker that matched her footwear, Britney wrote: “My favorite dress at the moment … dropped 12 sizes when I brought it to the door though 🧐🧐🧐 not sure why 🍾🍾🍾 !!!”
New Diet Is ‘Not Sustainable’
While celebrities including Kim Kardashian and Christina Aguilera find themselves accused of using weight loss drug Ozempic, Britney is reported to be restricting her calorie intake via 16-hour fasts. The star had addressed her plummeting weight back in March, taking to Instagram as she wrote: “I actually feel a little too tiny and weak to even think about shooting for Instagram right now!!! But honestly, I like this spiritual dimension I’m on.”
Since then, dietician Kim Shapira has spoken to The Sun. Expressing concern for Britney, she stated: “I hope she finds a way to have a more realistic and healthy relationship with food and a long-term approach.”
“When people go through something traumatic, they can develop a new trigger,” she added, continuing that Spears is “human” but that she suspects there is “trauma” around food. Britney is known for chatting about nutrition and weight on social media. She’s even joked about trying out the ice cream diet.
