BTS has officially entered Barbie World. On July 24, Jimin revealed on Instagram that he’s accepted Ryan Gosling‘s Ken guitar. The actor previously offered Jimin the gift in exchange for accidentally copying his style. In the Barbie film, Ken wears a black Western shirt with a white fringe. If the outfit seemed familiar, that’s because Jimin wore the exact top in BTS’ “Permission to Dance” music video. That was two years before Barbie premiered. Since Jimin wore it first, Gosling decided to give the “Like Crazy” singer credit for beating him to it. In response, Jimin thanked Ryan Gosling for the gift and congratulated him on the release of Barbie.
BTS’ Jimin Thanked Ryan Gosling For the Guitar on Instagram
“Hi Ryan and hi Ken, it’s Jimin. Congrats on your big release,” Jimin began his message. “My fans are excited to see your video, so thank you so much.” The BTS singer complimented Gosling for rocking the iconic cowboy look before giving a shoutout to his Barbie film. “I could see that you look great in my outfit. Thank you for this guitar. I really love it,” Jimin added. “I look forward to watching Barbie. Go Barbie!” Jimin also praised Gosling in his caption by writing, “Thanks for having my outfit in #BarbieTheMovie! You rocked it, Ken! 🎸”
Ryan Gosling’s Video Message to BTS’ Jimin
Gosling first pointed out the similarities between his and Jimin’s outfits in a July 19 Instagram video. “Hi, Jimin. It’s Ryan Gosling here. I noticed that your Permission to Dance outfit was the same as my Ken outfit in the upcoming movie Barbie,” the actor said. “I have to give it to you, you wore it first. You definitely wore it best.” After acknowledging that he accidentally took “another Ken’s style,” Gosling offered to give Jimin his “most prized possession,” aka, Ken’s guitar. “Ken doesn’t really play anyways so it’ll be much better in your hands,” Gosling told Jimin.
Now that Jimin has accepted the gift, it’s clear there are no hard feelings between these two Kens!
