Bumblebee is quickly becoming one of the most interesting movies of the holiday season. Paramount Pictures has revealed a new trailer for the Transformers prequel, which you can see down below:
Set twenty years before the events of the original Transformers, Bumblebee revolves around Charlie Watson (played by Hailee Steinfeld) and the aforementioned yellow VW bug, Bumblebee. Here is a quick synopsis for the film:
āOn the run in the year 1987, Bumblebee finds refuge in a junkyard in a small Californian beach town. Charlie (Hailee Steinfeld), on the cusp of turning 18 and trying to find her place in the world, discovers Bumblebee, battle-scarred and broken. When Charlie revives him, she quickly learns this is no ordinary, yellow VW bug.ā
If this trailer is any indication, there seems to be some serious Cybertron action that is set to take place in the movie. What everybody will most likely take out from the trailer is the debut of Optimus Prime. Prime, like most of the other Transformers, looks very similar to his retro design from the original series.
Optimus Prime wasnāt the only Transformer spotted in the new Bumblebee trailer either; it also gave us a look at Decepticons Shatter and Dropkick. Shatter is the cherry-red Plymouth Satellite and Dropkick is the blue AMC Javelin. They will be voiced by Angela Bassett and Justin Theroux respectively.
John Cenaās character had some more details revealed in this trailer as well. The first trailer teased that he would act as one of the filmās primary human antagonists and this new look all but confirmed it, as he seemingly teams up with the Decepticons to catch Bumblebee.
Bumblebee will release to theaters December 21, 2018.
