As Christmas approaches, it’s not unusual to see viral videos of people behaving like the Grinch. One recent clip gaining attention shows a woman whose actions earned her that exact label. The incident took place in Clovis, California, in a neighborhood known for celebrating the holiday by welcoming local vendors and supporting small businesses. Among them was a taco truck serving residents and visitors. That didn’t sit well with the woman, who reportedly began yelling at several vendors. She later returned a day or two afterward, this time confronting and yelling at one of the neighbors involved.
In the footage, one of the neighbors was standing outside his house when the California Grinch pulled up to the curb to confront him. “I hope you’re not gonna have another taco truck. That was terrible. It was so dangerous,” she started saying. She then claimed that having local vendors in the neighborhood causes traffic problems. At this point, the neighbor asked her who the person who came before and yelled at the vendors was. She had no shame in admitting that it was her. “That’s why I’m doing it to you,” she continued. He was still patient as he informed her that the vendors were licensed. Rather than respect that, she simply told him, “It doesn’t [expletive] matter. You cause a traffic hazard.”
The California Grinch continued her claims that having local vendors was dangerous. She even claimed that it endangered people’s lives. The neighbor lost his patience then as he told her, “Don’t come and stop in front of my house and talk [expletive] to me, you [expletive] [expletive].” Well, if she was worried about people’s safety, then why did she speed down the street after this confrontation? Plus, she was the only one who was complaining.
The neighborhood wouldn’t let the Karen ruin the Christmas spirit. What they did instead was support their local vendors even more. The daughter of the man who was confronted was the one who shared the video on TikTok. She shared an update later, asking people to come and support the vendors. She also plans to go live every day one of the vendors is in the neighborhood. In one of the comments, the daughter made sure to clarify that this was an event they always host. “The whole neighborhood is an event going on basically it’s a highly known decorated Christmas neighborhood in my town 5-10 people are always out selling some kind of stuff,” she wrote. It’s a good thing that they wouldn’t let anyone ruin this wholesome community.
People Reacting to the California Christmas Grinch
Almost everyone didn’t side with the California Grinch or support what she was saying. Her being that upset over Christmas celebrations prompted one woman to write, “Imagine being so miserable in life.” Others pointed out the Karen’s hypocrisy, as she was the one who endangered people, not the taco truck. “As she speeds off in a residential area?!” one person asked. Another person also said, “yOuRe CaUsInG tRaFfIc HaZaRds! *she yells while stopping in the middle of the street*.” Someone else then replied, “She yells as she speeds off going well over 15 mph in a residential area too.”
The daughter also added an update in the comments that made the woman even more annoying. “Another update- she called the cops on us having truck so the truck will not be back! They are bring their tent instead! Make sure to come support everyone this weekend Friday- Monday.” This made people want to support the vendors more as one woman wrote, “I am right down the street from candy cane lane. Please let me know where you are and I would love to buy from every vendor til the end of time. Just to annoy this psycho!!!” Since more than 20,000 comments have been left under the video, with the majority planning to visit the neighborhood, it is safe to say the Karen didn’t win.
