Elections are heating up, and with that in mind, candidates are looking for ways to gather more views, capture their potential voters’ attentions, and stand out among the many in the race. However, the one who recently made it to the spotlight is Spencer Pratt, who is running for mayor of Los Angeles, California, because not long ago, Trump decided to endorse the candidate, calling him a “Big MAGA person.” Yet, several potential voters believe that this endorsement will only harm the man’s candidacy instead of helping him reach one of the highest seats in the city.
Several outlets reported today that Trump endorsed Spencer Pratt, a current candidate for LA mayor. In an interview with FOX News, Trump mentioned how he’d like Pratt to do well, as he is “a character.” He then asked if Pratt supported him, and the interviewer said,“I think so.” Trump also referred to the candidate as a big MAGA person. He then went on a rant about rigged elections and how he’s great with Hispanics.
In any case, after people saw this, several began to think that the endorsement would not help Pratt’s candidacy. Several Reddit comments have already said that Trump’s support for Pratt will be counterproductive, and some people are already talking about how they will vote against the former Hollywood star.
California Voters Think Trump’s Endorsement Is Harmful
Since Trump’s administration has been controversial to say the least, several Redditors have mentioned how Trump’s endorsement has caused the opposite and made some potential California voters stay away from Spencer Pratt’s name, whenever the ballots come around.
“Trump’s endorsement is probably not the one that you should want…”
“No need to convince me. I wasn’t voting for him.”
Some others said that, even with endorsement and political figures trying to support Republicans, it will be hard for the party to stand out in California.
“For the record, there are about 2.2 million voters in LA city. About 600k are independent. 400k or so are republican. 1.1 million are Democrats. The numbers, objectively, do not favor a republican, particularly one who says he wants to work with ICE.”
In the end, it will all come down to election day, which is still a bit far away, but it seems candidates are already planning toward it. Yet, several people, especially those in the state, think Pratt might not be the winner, given the controversies that have surrounded him lately, such as the trailer debacle.
