A man in California was driving through an intersection in his lane when the car next to him veered right, causing a collision. While the two men argued over who was at fault and eventually reached an understanding, a cyclist who wasn’t even watching the accident blamed the man and even taunted him for no apparent reason other than to provoke him.
The clip was shared on TikTok by Dylan, who goes by his username dylanhascars. As expected, his content revolves around cars, and he often posts dashcam footage of himself driving. The clip attached above became his most popular to date, garnering 1.7 million views, 153,500 likes, and nearly 1,000 comments.
The California man is shown driving through an intersection while in the right lane. Meanwhile, another car, a black sedan, is seen driving “fully in the left lane.” As both cars traveled through the intersection, the sedan suddenly veered to the right, with a red car stopped in front of it.
With horns honked and brakes stepped on, the inevitable collision occurs. The driver told Dylan, “Bro, I checked my mirrors. There was nobody.” Dylan, meanwhile, said, “I… I am here!” He was then accused of speeding, an accusation Dylan denied, but detailed, in the clip’s caption, that he was going 37 in a 35 before hitting the brakes.
Cyclist Injects Himself In Situation
A back-and-forth ensued between both drivers, but Dylan’s dashcam captured a cyclist who had apparently witnessed the accident. The cyclist told him not to yell and then blamed Dylan for “hitting” the other car. However, the California man then showed the cyclist with his head turned around at the exact moment of the collision. He wasn’t even looking when it happened.
Dylan argued in his favor, but the cyclist didn’t listen. Instead, in a sarcastic tone, he said multiple times, “Everybody saw it,” as he began to ride away.
The other driver repeated that he didn’t see Dylan in his mirror, and then he can be heard admitting to hitting him, de-escalating the tense moment. Dylan himself also calmed down and asked for the other driver’s insurance.
Reaction
The video sparked multiple responses.
Many viewers blasted the cyclist for his reaction. One said, “The cyclist quite literally only seeing the point of impact.” Another one commented, “The cyclist’s reaction is frying me.”
Others pointed out that Dylan was not at fault at all, blaming the other driver for the collision. One wrote, “Can’t change lanes in an intersection either way.” Another one added, “Glad you had a dashcam.”
In the end, according to Dylan, an investigation found he was 0% at fault, making the cyclist 100% at fault.
