California Karen Blocks Mom’s Car at EV Charger, Then Hits the Station in Rage: ‘She’s charged up, she doesn’t need the spot’

‘She was right until she got crazy.’

A parking lot dispute in California has gone viral after a woman completely lost her cool over a non-electric vehicle parked in an EV charging spot, escalating the situation to police threats and alleged property damage.

The TikTok, by user @annieegirl, begins innocently enough. The creator, a mother with her children in a stroller, admits she temporarily parked in an EV charging spot because “there was no parking.” She laughs lightly, acknowledging, “I know I did something wrong, but she didn’t have to do me like that,” referring to the other driver’s extreme reaction — jamming her own vehicle right behind her so she could not get out.

After the owner returned to her vehicle, she seemingly sat and waited for the lady filming to return so she could specifically take that spot. After having turned the camera back on to record what was about to transpire, the EV’s door flies open. The woman storms toward the camera, shouting, “I’m calling the police!”, before invading the TikToker’s personal space. The situation turns chaotic when she yells, “Don’t touch me!”, apparently reacting to the mother’s attempt to create distance.

As tensions flare, the filmer’s mother calmly steps in, pointing out that another EV charger is open just a few feet away. The furious driver eventually storms back to her vehicle, reportedly attempting to move into the newly pointed-out spot, only to misjudge her turn and clip the charging point. The TikTok cuts off before impact, but according to several Reddit users, it’s “pretty clear where that was headed.”

Online, reactions have split between calling out both parties and condemning the Karen’s overreaction.

“She was right until she got crazy. Then she made herself look a fool.”

Others took a more humorous angle. “She’s charged up—she doesn’t need the spot 💀,” one user quipped, while another added, “Honestly, instead of blocking you in, her best bet was getting you towed.”

Over on Reddit, the debate turned to legality. “Unless it’s a city-run lot, it’s not even a ticket,” one user noted. Another added, “The ironic part is, her car would have to be towed too if they want to tow the initial car.”

Despite the chaotic energy, most agreed the meltdown was wildly disproportionate to the original “offense.” As TikTok commenter @NormanGupton put it:

“It’s annoying when someone takes a spot that’s intended for your car, but when you let other people stress you out like that, you give them your power.”

The clip has certainly sparked debate around EV charging etiquette and entitlement. But it’s mostly just hilarious.
